National MU fund? *updated*

Hey guys so with all these new shiny updates many people will be wondering how they can be taken advantage of. Obviously holding moral ground is going to become a little bit harder. When some MU goes over board and starts offering over 100 CC’s per million people may not care who they fight for (not I! and many others of course).
Also for the big guns it’s a good way to make a little spare cash but there is more to it then that.
The biggest thing I see coming from it is easier ingame organization. MU commanders and secondary commanders are going to have much more power then they ever had before. Plus the biggest MU in the country/richest is going to have a lot of influence in politics and what battle are given priority now.
If you think about this it can lead to a few thing’s: internal conflict between faction’s, a military dictatorship (haha no pun intended but YES!) or, if countries jump on it early enough, a well organized national MU fund run by people voted in by MU commanders.
In my opinion the 2nd and third options are obviously the best. The second option though can lead to bitterness and rivalry though where as the third co-operation and democracy.
Being that eCan is currently wiped and not really in the position to worry about Political/military relations means 1 of two things to me: we don’t have to jump on a national MU fund right away or it could be a HUGE advantage to do so.
Here’s the run down:
No national MU: MU commanders offer CAD in battles as the wish, we end up with numerous different offers and no help.

having a merc fund national MU:
so after some discussion i see the vice's of trying to squeez everyone into a one MU. here's my new proposal.
you have one MU that is run by a commander appointed by the government/ the MU commanders. one or the other or both. you have a council of commanders from the other MU's. basicly this MU has all merc funds directed into it, and is used as a bank for all other military units. this way you don't end up with this picture:
CAF 50 CC's per mill.
CoI 100 CC's per mill.
NW 10 CC's per mill.
^see the problem? you can only except 1 offer there. *big time merc* "i think i'll go fight for spain they're offering 125 per mill from one MU."
there's many way you could go about having a national MU fund. first way is you could make a new MU, or another way would be to give the honour to the biggest MU in the country. rules would obviously have to be made. Example: for speedy deployment of fund someone would have to have crisis use authority over funds, basically MU commander would have to be treated like the eCanada national treasurer.
There’s the IS better and COULD be better. In my opinion we don’t have much to lose in our current situation and if we approached this with the right mindset we could see great thing happen. Also a study was shown BEFORE this update showing that national MU’s were more effective. I can’t remember who published it but if anyone doesn’t send me link and it would be greatly appreciated. On top of all this having a national Mu would give a Congress like compete level as well as a reason to stay.
Well that some food for thought and I’m sure there’s a lot of holes in this idea and I welcome debate over them, that’s how things get done o7

It's certainly an interesting prospect
I always thought the CAF was our national MU but was on even footing with all the other MUs. Starting a national MU is fine (especially if we don't have one now) but I don't think forcing people into it or making it detrimental to be in another MU is the right course of action.
the forcing definitely not but having government funding going into one MU would become's a much more relevant issue now, and if the CAF is our national MU then making sure DO's co-ordinate with gov battle orders becomes more important, even though most of the time this is obvious and happens. also with governemt funding becoming more important so does who is in control of the mu getting it. mostly just for co-ordination reasons so like it's not a huge issue but it could definintly help in my opinion 😛

Could work, depends on type of MU though...
National MU? Dont we have one already? New one? I dont think so...
if so it's more of a matter of cordinating funds for key battles, which we don't have. which is why i also stated we don't have to make a NEW MU, just give give the funds to a certain MU so they can be directed better, and put a system in place so that the Commander can't abuse those privileges without consequence.
That would meen all comanders need to be organize in some way (which way?) and asume they wouldnt abuse their autority... Oraganizeing them in mass PM wouldnt work coz would be too much time spent in talking, and actions like that would required more precision timeing in order the get full use of it.
hmm that's a good point but we need to have a way to quickly get these new battle orders or whatever there called out there, and make sure it's organized in a way that A) we don't end up with three different MU's offering CAD like we have now and 😎 the merc funds aren't given to the wrong person in a time of panic and he says thx i'll keep these for my own MU's purposes.
i mean obviously a great way for this to work would be to have one nice big MU, but that's a pipe dream in everyones eyes because of ego/ slash 'MU pride' even i don't think that gona happen.
another thing that could be argued which i've heard before is the compete factor of having more MU's but lets take this contest as an example of how that doesnt work: if we had national MU way more people would get 2 energy bars for being in the first place MU. it make way more sense from a damage output co-ordination side but people like there MU's so it'll never happen

Interesting ideas, ragalanow. I'd like to think that if it was truly beneficial that most Canadians would be willing to join up into a national MU. Maybe we could have an in-game one with multiple sub-units based on our existing MUs. Sort of like how in the US military there are four branches - Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force. Well, we could have a "National Canadian Military" MU with the CAF, TCO, CoI, etc. Each one would have a number of regiments based on need that they could run as they saw fit. Soldiers could then apply to each one if they liked that unit (or their supply system) or just join up and being a Canadian soldier, period.
I think this scenario would work best with a Minister of Defense as Commander (I'd prefer that we separate this from being the CP's choice for continuity's sake with each change of office) with the CP and maybe Minister of Foreign Affairs as Second Commanders.
One last thing, the CAF was originally the Canadian military way back before in-game MUs but other militias (as they were then known, if my memory isn't failing me) popped up along the way. The MU module saw a few more created and the idea to treat all MUs as truly equal became cemented at around this time.
ya i agree what might just be needed is a highly advertised merc fund, which could go to the MoD. which we basically already have the only big change would be it would be more regulated, hopefully MU's would contribute to it so it would be a large fund, and it could be directed more efficiently as needed. the biggest thing i'm advocating at the point is being able to offer 150 CC's per mill for an extended period on time with continuity. like last battle we had 3 offer's up with two of them being useless other then to maybe catch someone's eye.
