I'll save my autobiography for another day, but allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am Jewyoyo (יהודיויו). Born on day 587 in Jerusalem District, Israel has always been my home. I had the honor to serve 10 terms as a member of Knesset (though not without controversy). I was last active on Day 1302 when I wrote a good-bye article following the complete takeover of Israel by Cyprus.
Imagine my dismay when, more than a thousand days later, I return to an Israel still under the rule of Cyprus.
My hopes were raised when I saw resistance wars taking place and succeeding in Tel-Aviv, Nazareth, and Be'er Sheva. However it quickly became clear to me that these resistance wars did not signify the beginning of our redemption from Cyprus. Quite the opposite, in fact.
These "training" wars, initiated by our occupier Cyprus with the consent and collaboration of the Israeli political leadership, has made a united eIsrael more of a dream than ever by robbing the people of Israel of our well-earned determination bonuses.
I do not feel the need to address every excuse offered by our leaders in defense of this pathetic situation. Having been absent from eRepublik for so long, I won't deny that I am out of touch with global geopolitical affairs and with Israel's domestic situation. Hell, even game mechanics have changed dramatically.
But some things do not change.

Israel is a NATION with FIVE regions. When the Cypriots occupy our regions and take advantage of natural resources that belong to US, it is a flagrant violation of our national sovereignty, and any leader who seeks to excuse this situation should be ashamed.
Perhaps some people agree with our leadership, who offer us the possibility of obtaining some backwater, meaningless region via airstrike. This is supposed to be the sugar that helps us take the bitter pill of Cyprus occupation.
I, for one, would not trade some God-forsaken corner of South America for even the smallest part of Tel-Aviv, Be'er Sheva, or Nazareth.
It is shameful that we would try to conquer land belonging to other nations while we continue to endure a ghettoized existence in our own land and the land of our fathers.
I refuse to be restricted to the Jerusalem and Haifa ghettoes. I will fight for the redemption of THE WHOLE LAND.
And you? What do you fight for? Do you fight for personal gain, to increase your stash of gold and collect more trophies? Do you fight for the glory of your military unit, or an international alliance?
Or will you fight for our right to be a free people in our land, the land of Zion and Jerusalem?
People might say we are Zealots, but as a certain wise man once said, "I'd rather be a free man in my grave, than living as a puppet or a slave."

To write briefly, Cyprus did occupy us for almost half a year now. For the majority of that time, we were doing what this article would want us to do. We were resisting, we were fighting. We organized a major RW every month so we can have Congress, however, we lost most of them until our determination reaches a high level (1.20 and above). It takes about 2 months to reach that level. So, it was a vicious cycle. We would fight back but would be defeated. During that time, we had NO regions which means no congress. We couldn't donate our congress medals to the treasury. And, players were leaving the game because we were occupied.
This recent current deal, although not optimal, is better than the vicious cycle we had before, where we were occupied, no congress, and players leaving game. Our intention is to build up strength so we can liberate ALL our territories.
This seems reasonable enough, but the thought of expending resources to take regions (and eventually defend them) elsewhere while our own regions are under occupation seems counter-intuitive to me.
Yes, Jewyoyo, I don't really support the idea of air-striking another country to support our own. That will cost much resources and our chances of holding those occupied regions, with our weak status, is low.
For now, I'll go just with the two-territory deal until we get stronger and save up our supplies.
The thing is that ASing Paraguay had to do with helping our alliance, not ourselves. I mean, yeah, it would have been better if we could still have those regions in Paraguay by the time Congress elections took place, but we knew that the chances for that are low anyway. We used our AS to drain some damage from other wars. Paraguay had regions in Europe and was kicked out, and Chile was no longer an empire, partly because Aurora countries put our battles in Paraguayan main land on 1st priority.

Welcome back. I enjoy reading such articles with a good sense of writing inspite of that I disagree with you.
All this theoretical values of "Not giving up", "We should stand against them" and "Let's show them what we got" are nice and good, but they are not practical. Israel isn't what it used to be. Israel got weaker. We could stick to the plan of "fighting for freedom" but we can find ourselves under a deep depression when we'll have no regions. And believe me, we followed those ways.

i really like nationalist people , i think im nationalist too but i must say something :

you are old player so let me tell you a story about same kind of thinking method :
Iran didnt make any deal with Turkey some years ago when i was iranian cp , yeah we stand for what we had and fight for it ! but this is just a bullshit , we lost our all regions and they wiped us and we just lost many active players , in last 6months we hadn't enough players to win a simple RW against them ,
we dont have much fun in iran now because we dont have active players !
Israel was wiped for long time , i did try to help john and miki on John last cp period time , i even spend 300k cc for co against cyprus but it doest work that is it ! it cant change anything !
so we must choice :
1- Fighting for ever against our enemy to save our motherland but losing people , and wiped for long time , having a boring game
OR
2- Make a deal with them which is on israel benefit and work on other things we can do to have a better future for Israel ,
look at our media right now , we had 1article in media every two days [in best situation and that was miki articles 😃 ] with 20 votes , but israel on these days have more people , more fun and all are trying to help country to have better face !
This is a game and we must think about it as a game not more , what is different if israel lose all their core regions but have 5 regions somewhere else for example in africa ? 😃
what is different ? nothing !

And about A.S to Para , this was alliance plan and we followed it to help our friends and make a drain in dmg of our enemies ,check my last article about A.S , we did it in best way , we earned many respect from our friends and that is what we must fight for , RESPECT !

Thank you for your input. It is good to earn the goodwill of our allies, because it seems to me that our membership in an alliance such as LETO is one advantage we have against Cyprus. Perhaps the territorial integrity of the LETO member states should be a greater priority than offensive action, however.
By the way, while it is true that nationalistic sentiments alone do not win wars, these sentiments are still at the heart of the game.

I agree that those sentiments are still at the heart of the game, especially as an Israeli man who's going to the IDF paratroopres in 5 mounths, defending our country, RL. BUT, when we have REAL chances of getting our regions we will, trust me. But this is not the time.
About LETO - when we tried to resist against Cyprus, LETO was there to help us. With LETO's help we got 1 region for the congress eletions and a few days after that we wiped out again. Don't forget that LETO can't always fight for Israel. With all the respect we have, there are more importenet things like: Chile in Europe, Paraguay in Europe (not anymore), USA in Europe and more....
I remember you Jewyoyo! All we need now is Sadeh and Hufflepuff and this will be a real party!

Joshua Hoss. I haven't seen or heard from him in years. But Maelyn and Perfect.Knight are still around, albeit not as active as in the past. But that's pretty much our entire community here. Not like it was in the old days.
