My Story: Welcome to eUK

Day 372, 09:10 Published in United Kingdom Philippines by HazzN

Not many of you will know me, but I hope this changes over the coming days.

My name is Harry, and not so long ago I joined the eRepublik. In my Real Life (from hence forth referred to only as 'RL') I am a citizen of the United Kingdom. This was the reason why I chose eUK as my eLocation, and is the place where my eSelf currently resides.

Much like RL, eRepublik consisted of working, working out and sleeping. Each day was the same. I was a faceless figure in a giant machine, churning over and over and over, repetitive with no end in sight.

For a moment there I was asking myself: Is this all there is to eLife?

As a 'noob' with very little experience and a very limited social circle, I felt isolated and bored, verging on giving up completly.

Then everything changed. Someone introduced me to eUK forum.

Suddenly I was no longer an individual, fighting for recognition in an incomprehensible system. I was part of a community. eUK is not like other countries. You don't simply show up, vote and then leave. Everything is discussed. Political policies can be talked about by Joe Everyman, before it is discussed further by the Congressmen and women in the Houses of Commons. And yes, you can be a member of Congress too. Suddenly all these doors were opened up to me and they can be opened up to you too. You can make friends, join a Political Party and get involved in shaping your eCommunity.

So, to all those new members of eUK, join the forum and get involved.

Enjoy eLife.
