My Reactions to the Elections

Day 402, 08:53 Published in United Kingdom Australia by Patrick Reckitt

As of this morning, I am officially one of the two representatives of Yorkshire and Holderness (if we can get the name changed) to the House of Commons. This means that this newspaper will start to contain more articles addressing issues to my constituency, starting now.

You may have noticed that I've started to call the region I am in Yorkshire and Holderness, rather than Yorkshire and Humberside. This is because many of the people in the Yorkshire and Humberside region have expressed their desire to change Humberside to Holderness because Humberside is normally associated with Linconshire rather than Yorkshire. To this end, I'd encourage you all to sign this petition here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/petition-for-yorkshire-and-holderness-711810/1.

I and IndieKid will also both try and get an activity boosting pub quiz (bring your own ale) with a probably reward, in cash, in the team that wins. I question here of course, other than the when and wheres, is who can we play against? Considering that I know the West Midlands has been trying to get a Quiz off the ground for a while with the East Midlands, this could be an option. If not, I can easily explore others.

It is also worth noting that I have voted Yes to peace with France, something I have done for a couple of reasons. The first, and main, reason is that we stand to loose Belgium if we do not stop this war. Considering that Belgium is a part of the UK, this would be like loosing Wales, Scotland or NI to me and it is something I certainly do not want to happen. My second reason is that we have nothing to gain, considering that France has its MPPs activated and we do not. In my opinion, there is no way to regain LN and trying to would just stir up more trouble for us.

Finally, I want to wish the best of luck to my fellow MDU Congressmen, Richard York and CV James, who I am sure will do an excellent job in the HoC and to wish my fellow congressmen the best of luck. For the MDU and Yorkshire and Holderness, the future is looking bright.
