My New Year’s Resolution: Be...Myself
PrincessMedyPi
Editor’s Note: I usually don’t make New Year’s Resolutions because I believe if someone really wants to accomplish something in their lives, they will do it regardless of the time of year. My internal need for change just so happened to coincide with the New Year, so I thought this title was apropos.
Reflection: My Life in eTurkey
For the first few months of my existence in this game, I sat back and quietly observed the goings on of the game. I stayed out of politics until I knew enough about the way the game worked and the way the government was structured to have sufficient information to form worthwhile opinions. Once I became aware of the corruption within the Turkish government, I became an outspoken opponent of the administration. My writings were what began to command the respect of Goons, Jews, and Turks alike. It was the passionate fervor with which I attacked current events that made my paper a defining characteristic of my citizen. The support I garnered from the ideals I shared with the public through my writings eventually spread to the political realm. I was elected into Turkish congress, became the party president of ABK (which I reformed to People’s Democratic Voice), and ran a competitive campaign against BattalGazi in the Turkish presidential elections.
Around the last of my stay in eTurkey, I had become extremely worn down. I was unable to successfully negotiate peace between the Turkish and Jewish portions of eTurkey’s populous, had barely saved my party from an attempted hostile takeover, and had lost in the elections due to zombies and multies. The constant fighting and unrest in the nation made me question why I had been trying to save people who seemed to not want to cooperate for what I saw as their own benefit. When Benn Dover approached me with the idea of emigrating to my home nation (I was born in the eUSA and lived a quiet life here for the first month of my eExistance), it was extremely easy for me to accept.
Assessment: My Return to the eAmerica
I came here with the ideal of fully participating in the American media and political systems. Upon my arrival here, I have been elected to congress twice and am the current Director of the Welcoming Committee. However, somewhere along the way, I lost my drive to write. Perhaps this can be blamed on the countless hours spent writing on the forums and chatting away in IRC rooms. (I know the amount of time spent on the eUSA forum alone is over three days, and it is hard for me to fathom what that number raises to when you add the time I have logged on IRC and other forums.) Keeping up with the media and the forums (something that takes far longer than it did in eTurkey) deprived me of the time I was used to spending on formulating and writing out my opinions on the current state of the nation.
There were times in the last congressional session in which I did not take the necessary time to fully evaluate the ramifications of some of the legislation I voted in favor of, and for that, I sincerely apologize to my constituency and the rest of the nation as a whole. I spent so much time listening to what others had to say that I did not take enough time to reflect upon what I had read and examine how it correlated with my own beliefs. Sometimes, I made some rash decisions, but I now have seen the error of my ways and am looking forward to reforming the way in which I participate in this world once again.
Turning A New Leaf: A New Future In The eUSA
This term in congress, I will be a much more assertive voice when discussing legislation. I have become far too passive in our policy planning. This starts with my activity kicking off the Welcoming Committee (which is being done as both Welcoming Committee Director and Congresswoman). We are in the process of developing the census, new citizen supports, and a new citizen welcome message. So far, the team we have assembled is amazing! I can’t wait to move forward during this session. The main focus of my energy for the next few days will be the presidential elections. I am running as Justinious’ Vice President in the January ‘09 elections. He and I are working on our platform, and it should be released very soon.
But, before I could work on that, I realized that I needed to just be...myself. That is why I am changing my avatar to me. I figure it is a step in the right direction if everything I write is associated with my physical being. Plus, it is so much cooler to be myself than Tugce Kazaz. I hope you enjoy.
Cheers,
Princess

Very interesting stuff Princess. Now we all get to learn about the wimminz behind the pretty face. I for one would gladly vote for you as Prez rather than VP.

I am amazed how you are using the abbreviation VP for Vice President.
It's rather confusing, in some other parts of the world it has a different terrifying meaning.
Wait you not Sarah Palin are you?
