Musings from the latest UKPP Party Conference
BaronChris
Another UKPP Party Conference, and with it new questions and policies. Though I'd write up the questions and outcomes discussed. As a party leading for transparency, I think this is a good step. Alfagerm lead the conference and the agenda. The following was discusse😛
What did you all think of the polling idea we did for congress?
Good idea and will be used through gDocs.
Do we use it to reserve the top spots, Use it for all spots and is the PP allowed to weed out certain candidates before the poll?
Congress members will receive their space based on their place in the party polls, dependent on the amount of votes they receive. A system where the PP chooses the list past the first top 3/4 spaces (based on activeness) was discussed, but not passed.
How many players can the voter vote for?
Each party member can vote for 3 candidates, as per the rules before
Can/Should the PP be able to stand for Country President?
The UKPP PP will not be able to run for CP.
Only UKPP members who have been PP of the party can stand for CP?
A decision was not reached on the matter, which leads to the next question...
How about we have a party-wide ballot on the question?
Motion passed unanimously and should happen soon.
Tangbod then took the floor to discuss Citizenship.
A discussion was had, including the possibility of a CS committee, but no decision was made on the issue.
Any other business
None.
Party Conference Adjourned.
Alfagrem was heard to say "UKRP sucks so bad" as he left the building 😛

"Only UKPP members who have been PP of the party can stand for CP?" From an outsider perspective, I don't see why you'd need to know how to run a single party to be CP, seeing as the jobs are completely different, I have no idea how you lot failed to come to a decision on that.
I do agree that UKRP are the scum of the earth, though.
all possibilities should be considered before dismissal
A decision was hard to come by as we're naturally disposed to not employing any limitations on members but we also have to balance that against being the largest, non-shrinking party in the UK.
As it stands we could run a complete unknown for CP is he/she gets more votes then 'none of the above' in a poll and they could use the weight of UKPP numbers to become CP if the rest of the field is poor and/or divided.
If we allow that to happen then are we not TUP?
😮 😮 😮
Interesting. Maybe congress terms would be better, seeing as that's at least a government job.
The UKPP PP qualification was used as that's something that all the voters in a CP ballot would have experience of and thus an opinion of how good or bad the prospective candidate was.
Ministers and congress are somewhat more removed in terms of personal impact and at hostage to events that could be beyond their control.
I've never been a PP of any party!
barely a CP too
classic Wayne innit, do fuck all and still come up smelling of roses!
whilst spending other peoples money, dem evening classes with my mother served you well

It was a long discussion about it, which will be discussed at the next party conference, there was talk of perhaps extending it to those who have been experienced congress members.
how the fuck did i miss it 😒
You were probably watching hentai?
y u no call me to meeting ;_;
I had no idea there was a meeting either. The only evidence of it was when Alfagrem posted the IRC in the party thread and the fact the meeting was starting...
There was an announcement 5 days ago in a group message...that is how I got the info.
i knew there was one coming, which is whats so upsetting ;_;
I can confirm that I received the same group message as Pannonian nomad.
