1 - Requirements

MediaPublik needs to run in Firefox with GreaseMonkey plugin installed


1.1 - Firefox

MediaPublik is only tested and fully supported in Firefox. Firefox is a free web browser (the best) and you can fin it here:

www.mozilla-europe.org/firefox/


1.2 - GreaseMonkey

GreaseMonkey is a plugin for firefox. We need it to run MediaPublik.

If you are using eRepublik Plus, you have GreaseMonkey installed.

If you have not GreaseMonkey installed, please go to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/748 using firefox, of course, and click "Add to Firefox". Wait three seconds and click "Install Now".

Now you must restar firefox.


1.3 - Can you run MediaPublik in another browser?

Some other browsers can run GreaseMonkey Scripts, for example, Opera. But i have not be able to run it in any boriwer but firefox.

If you has run MediaPublik in another browser, please, contact me with all the info. Thanks.


2 - Install

Now you have Firefox with GreraseMonkey. To install MediaPublik you only need to go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/58835 and click "Install", wait 4 seconds in the new window and clik "Install".

Now you have MediaPublik installed and running. Congratulations.


3 - Setting Up

MediaPublik is ready to use without any configuration, but 2 simple steps will improve your eRepublik and MediaPublik experience.

To go to config panel you must to go to your inbox, by clicking in the envelope icon. Now you have a new tab, the MediaPublik tab, click it!




3.1 - Language

MediaPublik is available in 12 languages. Chooose yours in the menu. Your language is not in MediaPublik? Reaed the point 5.


3.2 - Header and signature

In the MediaPublik tab you can to set up a header and a signature. Write them and click the "Save" button. Then you can add them directly from your article editor.




4 - Using MediaPublik

The MediaPublik usage is so easy that i don't know why i am writting this.


4.1 - Adding Header and signature

Set up them in the Config tab and simply click in signature or header button in the toolbox to add this to the article.




4.2 - Article Preview

Click the preview button to see a preview of your article. So you will be able to see your mistakes before post it.


4.3 - Publishing for MediaPublik users

No matter if you use MediaPublik or not. You should follow this guidelines to improve your readers experience. MediaPublik has already 1400 downloads, think about your readers.


4.3.1 - VideoPublik

MediaPublik convert any link to a video page into the player of this page. It supports Youtube, Megavideo and OverStream for now.

But it only works if you use the native link. If you use tinyUrl or another similar system, MediaPublik users won't be able to see the player directly in your article.

Expample. If you use this code:

Video of the battle[/ url]

Normal users will see the link to the video, as always.

MediaPublik users will se the YouTube video player in your article to see the video.




4.3.2 - LightImages

You can load the linked images directly into the article with an animation (LightBox style).

But it only works if you use the native link. If you use tinyUrl or another similar system, the animation won't works.

You can't use tinyUrl, but you can use tinyPic. Basically, it is necessary that the link ends with the extension of an image: jpg, gif, png, etc...


4.3.3 - Background Music

You can add a soundtrack to your article putting in it a link to a Goear song, MediaPublik will turn it into the player of the song.

You need to use the Goear url, without modify it.

Example:

SoundTrack of this article[/ url]

Normal users will see the link to the song, as always.

MediaPublik users will se the Goear player in your article to listen the song while reading your article.




4.4 - Remember what not to do

Don't use tinyUrl or similar to cut links to Video, images or Goear music. For all the rest of links, use it without problem.


5 - Translate MediaPublik to your language

6 - Uninstall or disable MediaPublik

So... you want to uninstall or disable MediaPublik, too bad. Well, it's easy too. Now you have GreaseMonkey installed, you can see a monkey head in the bottom right corner of your firefox. Right click in it, an click in MediaPublik to uncheck it.

Now you are not ussing MediaPublik.
