More Raw Materials Through Research (Just an Idea Given to Me)

9 Day 457, 09:36 Thailand
A contact of mine in another country sent me an idea proposed in their articles. Although I don’t know if it will help us, I would like to offer it up here for consideration. Perhaps a team can be assembled to work on this.

On the forum, several people have been complaining, as is usual, about the natural resources allotted to their country. After some serious whining, an admin posted and said that anyone wanting to lend towards a reevaluation of resources should construct a spread sheet in order to document why certain countries should have certain resources. I am not familiar enough with RL Thailand to know the resources it has, but maybe someone can compile a list of resources in relation to a few other countries and demand a few more resources for Thailand. Right now, we are definitely resource short.

Just a thought.

The admin post stated:

"Would you like to send your suggestions concerning the distribution of Raw Materials in the New World ?

Prepare a well-documented spreadsheet that contains Total Productivity of each country (in real life) for each Raw Material discovered until now in the New World. Add of course the source of information and your suggestion for each region.

Attach the spreadsheet to the e-mail you send to raw.materials@erepublik.com

Well Thailand at least deserves high wood and diamonds. IRL, Thailand has actually banned logging b/c the wood was so good, people were driving the trees to extinction. Also, although it does not produce many diamonds, Thailand produces so many gemstones as a whole that it should have high diamonds.

My first thought would be high grain, since Thailand is a major rice exporter.

Well, if this is a route we are intrested in, we might try to set some people to finding out Thailand's production in relation to several other countries. If we do this, we may see a change in our resources after the admins review the material. We have to have documentable and cridible sources for this however.

Thailand got the raw end of the deal when it comes to resources. I cannot believe they are actually considering changing around resources each country's regions have. Seems very controversial if they take some away to move it somewhere else considering people set up companies based on resources.

It would be nice to see some natural resources around here for a good price.

The main problem with requesting better resources is if we get a high production region, we're a lot more likely to get invaded.

Callagan, I had considered this possibility and, although it is a risk, I think it would be far better for us to have the resources and be able to buid a stronger economy that has more potential for export than to be invisible on the bigger or more powerful countreis' radars. At least, that's what I think.

I would say dont worry about more reasources means getting invaded. If we keep building our economy, then we run the risk of getting invaded anyways. We will have to up our security no matter what, more reasources would help us in that goal.

Hell yes we need resources. I recall sending a random suggestion a while back about diamond and wood in Thailand. We're quite poorly represented, and you can see this in our current resources, our number of regions (compared to Spain, which is about the same size as Thailand), and the way the admins carelessly shifted the boundaries and locations around.

Let's see if we can get this on their radar.

Great idea, and worth the time to pester the admin.
