Recently I have made some comments about cutting the Budget Line for the United States Armed Forces, now that Easy has made my point; here are my responses to one of My Commanding Officers 1st Lieutenant Kortanul, 7th 'Spartans' Regiment, Easy Company Militia, who I wish to thank for his input; after all I do love a good debate.
'Privatising USAF would lead to its loss of a budget line, as its budget line is to fund a government-held MU to fight strictly on government orders. It is a major FA tool and makes damage direction easier. If you were to split USAF off and still fund it, then either they're still government owned, or we're paying for an MU that has nothing to offer and doesn't follow orders. There is no reason to sever USAF, nor should it seek independence.'
As I stated I believe the Military should be a check against an Executive -which BTW includes Congress- that changes every 30 days, one of the reasons for privatizing the United States Armed Forces is that blind obedience to Presidential Orders; the USAF can not be effective if every 30 days orders change. It is because of that blind obedience we were drug into a war with Canada, a war IMO most citizens did not want; though I applaud the fact that the soldiers of the USAF obeyed orders -they were badly misused by their government. That is why I favor privatization, since private donations are impossible to halt and currently equals government funding they are in essence a PMU; so why continue to fund an MU you feel 'has nothing to offer ' as a PMU -who without said funding would most likely be the equal of SHIELD? No insult intended towards my SHIELD Brothers.
Easy Company Militia is a far better Foreign Affairs tool than the USAF and we are private closed community, not under the command of the President and completely loyal to America. A military unit is only a good Foreign Affairs tool if they are feared, who do you think foreign armies fear more; the USAF or Easy Company? During the Canadian War I followed Easy Daily Orders and while I DO NOT speak for the Command Officers of Easy Company, as I followed those orders; as a soldier I felt that Easy stayed loyal to America -not necessarily to the President.
'While EZC's unique system works for EZC, it is extremely expensive and supplies are far from the best. EZC works because of an internal brotherhood that has been shown to be nigh-impossible to develop elsewhere. EZC is also a closed MU with a controlled and stable population, and many loyal, long-term members. SHIELD tries to be a bit like EZC, but I don't have enough experience dealing with them to say more.'
I totally agree that Easy Company is a unique closed community, a closed community of well disciplined soldiers; which is very expensive to run and worth every CC. Can Easy's way of life be taught, no; but everyday I see new soldiers who want to learn it signing up with the Best. For the ordinary soldier most MUs have a set limit of Weapons and Wellness per day, believe the USAF uses an IRC request system with a two request maximum; seems to me most of the expense would come from supplying tanks with extra rations -which is as it should be. The new Census Bureau, the Department of Interior - which funds Bank Up 2 Strengthen Up are all 'departments' of the government; yet each and every one is run by private donations and are unique to 'in game' life. We The People's 'Whalefare Program' is just getting off the ground and strives to be the top supplier to those in need and is also supported by 'Private Donations' -why?
Privatization works, government oversight doesn't....anyone remember Operation Retread?

I am a senior USAF officer since 2012 and there is virtually no change every 30 days.
USAF can't be 'political' yet PMU's make it a political target, so sweet.

Back to the hot topic:
The military should not be a check on the executive. We tried that once, and we ended up with the JCS mess some years back. For my two cents on the overarching theme though, EZC is EZC and the USAF is the USAF. EZC is awesome, and the USAF is pretty damn good too, but they're two different things.
IF (and that's a big if) the USAF needs to make changes, they should come from within the USAF on its own terms. It's easy for folks on the outside to sit and judge, but it's not really fair, as we don't have a full view.
That is exactly what is happening in terms of changes, and I will not allow anyone from the outside to fuck with my MU without a pretty damn good reason.
Your MU or America's MU...? If it is your MU then it is private and therefore not entitled to government funding, if it is America's their Budget Line is the concern of all Americans; not just yours....
I don't see how this article concerns itself with the budget line, and more with some inane move to disband USAF or something. You're also pretty wrong on some points, esp the Canada war argument is poor and all in all not true.
I know I'm butting in where it's absolutely none of my business (like when has that ever stopped me before) but I must say that I remember the JCS BS and the govt attempting to control the independent MU's at the time. When jver and I created Pickle's the #1 desire was to remain independent and do our own thing. We have NEVER accepted any funding other than gifts and prizes. If there is even the mention of "strings attached" it is refused. I've even been accused of being arrogant because of this. I may be arrogant but I'm no one's puppet.

This was not an attack on the USAF and in fact they reacted in a totally excellent and and responded well trying hard to hold on....
I never even heard about this "competition" so what was there to respond to?

When you say, 'You're barely a fraction of a fraction of our unit damage...',are you say Easy is 'barely a fraction of a fraction' of the USAF damage? When you say 'our unit' do you mean the USAF or Easy and to which do you belong?
Please don't confuse our end-of-week show of force an attack on USAF. This was an event to challenge ourselves to see if we could pull ahead while also rewarding all the fighters with CO pay, funded by donation from a departing long-time member. We made it work, but there was no great reward to be had and no EZC vs. USAF competition. They had no reason to attempt to combat our attempts, and we had no reason to close the gap and take another MU decoration like we did except for pride alone.
In the future, do not use my statements in political articles without my approval, and do not attempt to speak for EZC against USAF while wearing the uniform. There is risk of this being taken all too seriously and can damage EZC's reputation. If you wish to speak about USAF, don't bring anything else into it, and you should probably go spend time there before you try to change it. USAF isn't as broken and pitiful as you seem to believe, and they remain a solid investment for the country. I spent a while with USAF, even QM'ed for them, and I respect many of my fellow Americans there. Is the MU perfect? No. Is EZC? No.
I did not leave USAF to come back to EZC because I disliked the MU, but because I missed the community I had grown accustomed to in EZC and could not adapt.
I have never said they were broken, just the opposite IMO they can and should stand on their own; when I first returned I started out in the USAF so I have been in that unit.
This was just a way to spur competition and reward our members, nothing more; a little trash talk never hurt anyone....

I mentioned this on an article that was written by DMV3. He was looking for the best troll article: I says to him, "What if I brag and it gets a lot of people mad?" To which he has never replied.
The best competitions happen when you don't tell the other side about it, according to Franklin.
This was a friendly competition, it also a pretty good test of the responsiveness of the USAF to a military threat; what if we had been the open phase of a invasion?
A little competition and some trash talk and all the USAF can do is cry, there's no crying in baseball...!
The screenshot here is last week. Check what I posted from this morning on the forum. Even with 2 billion from Oblige in EZC on 1 round, USAF was first place during an actual priority battle.
Excellent. However the week is young, the USAF also has a 125,000 CC Budget Line no other MU receives; I would expect the USAF to lead the way in every battle.The only screenshot that counts, however, is Tuesday next....

Franklin Stone, I would suggest before making suggestions regarding budget amounts make sure of your facts. (please note I do believe Easy is great MU and have total respect for them and hope nothing that follows is taken to mean any thing else.)

not correct it depends on your Division. 1 & 2 get 2 and 3 & 4 get 3.

not true USAF does not supply food to D3&4 at all, and only to D1&2 if they ask for it EVERY time they request

My understanding is if a MU is closed no one can join it without ok from the CO. I know at times Easy has totally closed membership (not sure if they are accepting people now or not). One of the things USAF provides is a place where any eUS player can join, get supplies and fight. We are always open.

actual spending request was something like 55,000 and we could go on, let me close by saying.
Yes USAF does have donations in time and raw production, etc. I do some of that as well as running or being part of the messages threads related to it. I can say we are not able to cover
our supply completely by donations. I would like to get there but it just is not happening.
