Mighty Oblige

Day 2,110, 04:32 Published in USA USA by Jefferson Locke

Oblige at the Bat:

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the eUS ATO that day: The score stood four to two, with but one inning more to play. A straggling few got up to go in deep despair. The rest Clung to the hope which springs eternal in the human breast; They thought, "If only Oblige could but get a whack at that— We'd put up even money now, with Oblige at the bat

All eyes were on him ; everyone applauded when he stepped into #whitehouse; Then while RGR ground the ball into his hip, defiance flashed in Oblige's eye, a sneer curled Oblige's lip. And now the multi-covered sphere came hurtling through the air, And Oblige stood watching it in haughty grandeur. Close by the sturdy CP the PTO unheeded sped— "That ain't my style," said Oblige . "Strike one!" Plato said. From the PPs, there went up a roar, Like the beating of storm-waves on a distant shore; "Troll him! Troll Plato!" shouted someone in the channel; And it's likely they'd have rage quit had not Oblige raised his hand.

With a smile of charity great Oblige's face shone; He stilled the room; he bade the ATO go on; He signaled to RGR , and once more the PTO numbers flew; But Oblige still ignored it and Plato said, "Strike two!" "Fraud!" cried the IRC room, But one scornful look from Oblige and the channel was awed. They saw his face grow stern and cold, they saw his muscles strain, And they knew that Oblige wouldn't let the PTO go by again.

The sneer is gone from Oblige's lip, his teeth are clenched in hate, He pounds with cruel violence his bat upon the plate;
And RGR holds the ball, and now he lets it go, And now the air is shattered by the force of Oblige's blow.
Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright, The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light; And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout, But there is no joy in the eUSA—mighty Oblige has struck out
.

Yesterday, our CP, no...our “savior” Oblige published an article stating that he wanted to increase the two way communication between government and our people. It is rather convenient for him to now want to increase that communication, after that lack of communication cost us a chance at killing the largest PTO threat this country has ever seen. It is rather convenient that Oblige, our “savior” has written just as many campaign articles as Presidential articles. Our CP, our “savior”, talks about communication only when it can get him a second (6th) term.

At least Oblige, showing his leadership, was willing to stand up and write an article admitting that he could have done a better job….since we know that he would have taken all the credit for “saving” us had he come up short.

Oh wait, he didn’t. He didn’t say anything after that. He just buried his head and hoped it went away, much like he did with the ATO to begin with.

In Oblige’s first four terms, many moons ago, they started out well. But towards the end, they were widely recognized as being inconsistent. Oblige was generally seen to be a CP that was aloof at best, non-caring at worst. Last time he was CP, it took him three terms to get to that point.

Now it’s taken him all of two weeks.

If you don’t have the energy to finish your term strongly, then you don’t deserve a second one.

Yours forever in service,
