Y'know, V2 came along with its bugs, with its confuzzled economic module and its armed-bandit style war module. So many great players quit as a result, I was all like, "me sad"...
And then.. It became increasingly clear that robots and crackers were setting fire to eRep-Rome while Admin-Nero played the violin and sang happy songs about how wonderful everything is in V2. This crap was so unfair to the honorable players that I found myself shuffling around, muttering "that sux"...
Wandering around in a depression over the invasion of the robot hordes, I found myself in some dark alleyways. There, mysterious folks offered me free tastes of all kinds of forbidden fruit with names like Tor, Polimpo, Vidalia, iMacros and macchanger. And though I was mightily tempted, a voice in my head kept saying, "Over to the darkside, Quinn, don't go!"
Which was all a little too weird. So I took a nice long siesta and mulled it all over.
That's when it occurred to me that this situation is like a test for the party I've spent my whole e-life supporting: the Socialist Freedom Party. The SFP've always been about a community sticking together in times of adversity and helping to figure out how to make the game work for the working-class players. It's been about innovation, fair play, rising to meet the challenge, and having a critical attitude towards "the way things are supposed to be" in eRepublik.
That's when an image started to form in my mind...
Hmmm.... It seemed to mean... "Find the key!" (Or maybe it meant "There is way out!" ? ) At any rate, I decided to give it one more go. And that's why I am running, at long last, for PP of the SFP: to help find the key that will make this game work for the players.
So don't give up the ship to V2 depression, to the robot hordes, or to admin-capitalist greed. Vote for PQ for PP of SFP on the 15th.
Really. Whether you support the SFP or another Party: Do your part to help make this sucker work for regular players! Resist the temptation to go over to the darkside. Refuse to spend RL cash on the game until V2 crap is fixed. Strengthen your own community of players.
Oh. Just one more thing...

I found out just the other day that the person who wrote the pledge of allegiance. That solidified my position that socialism is about American as apple pie, if not more American.
