Lucus Casius is Running in North Dakota

Day 908, 21:30 Published in USA USA by Lucus Casius

(I know that this article is early. I shall be reposting it and advertising later in the elections.)

Lucus for Congress!

But First, Who is Lucus?

For those of you who do not yet know me, I am but a simple kid who started this game in Iowa, where I live IRL. Realizing that it was a stupid move to live in aa state without a Q5 hospital, I hurried on over to Florida.

For a time, I two-clicked, getting to know the game mechanics. Ignoring the forums, I larned what I could of the New World from the wiki and from newspaper articles, especially those written by Jewitt, who, if I am not horribly mistaken, was president when I joined back in December of '09.

In January, less than a month after I joined the game itself, I signed up for the Training Corps.(http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dEY2S3ZTVGVSZzY1M1g3ZjB6STdpNmc6MA) It was there that I first began to become semi-involved with the game, though I only posted a few times. Still, I enjoyed it. It was during this time that I wrote my first article.

After my brief time in the TC, I moved on up to the Home Guard (now the National Guard (http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dDc5MGdSbzRWNElzWGZDdmMxRzVNa1E6MA)). While still fun, I must admit that I enjoyed the much more active TC more. I requested several times to move back down to the TC, but, though I received several assurances, nothing ever came of it. I eventually gave up, and dropped back down as nothing more than a two-clicker who would follow USNG orders. I am still a member of the USNG, but it isn't exactly the same. If I remain in the military, I'll likely request to change branches. Not to the TC though, because that would be ignored.

I'm still somewhat upset about that.

Anyway, I drifted along like this for a while. Participated as a minor part in a few major battles. And here it is that we enter into the April PP elections.

Following the takeover of the DemReps and of the Republicans, I received orders to join up with the UIP in order to prevent the PTOers from nominating any Congressmen. I joined, and, within a week or so, I found the UIP forums. It was at this time that I discovered politics.

Interested, I began posting on the forums and joining IRC. I moved on over to the eUS Forums, and was astounded by the community there. I became somewhat involved in that, too. Not quite at Dan Wang levels, but I was there. Joined a couple of government programs, including the Community Development Program.

This leads me to where I am now, and to my actual platform.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR LC

My Platform

What I am mainly campaigning for is not retention programs, which I shall adress later, but actual recruitment programs.

Recruitment

The way I see it, only a very small percentage of people stay here past their first login, making it almost impossible for our retention programs to reach them. We have to work with this, mostly because we cannot into graphics or in-game tutorial updates. As such, the only thing we can do is get MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN.

Let us assume that only 5% of people who join this game remain, and let us also assume that none of these people are multis. If we get 100 people to join now, daily, that is 5 people a day who choose to remain. Now, if we start a program to go onto other forums and advertise the eUS of eRepublik, we can double those daily numbers, getting 200 to join and 10 people to stay. Already, we have more new blood than we do now.

In addition, the recruitment should give us all more gold. We'll have a baby boom... AND GET RICH OFF OF IT. Not just from the normal in-game rewards, either. I'm proposing a bi-weekly CONTEST, with the winner who proves that he recruited the most active people within those two weeks. The winner would receive a decent reward, be it a house, USD, or Gold.

Retention

The key here is to actually find noobs ASAP. Don't let them sit there and decide that this game sucks. Join the CDP. (https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dFVlcS1nQXcxalFjZVlBb3R6VFhWNmc6MA) They can into Win. I should know, I'm one of them.

That's right, I want to recruit you for retention.

It makes everyone the happier.

Also, be willing to find and friend new people. Help them out. Be a mentor. (https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHNOaGgxZHJtdFc1YUpTZkhJT0xwTUE6MQ)

At this point, that's all we can do.

Taxes

I consider them fine where they are. NEXT!

Foreign Affairs/Military

We shall continue to aid EDEN, we shall continue to be a member of the Brolliance, we shall fight Phoenix, and we shall remember that the military answers to the POTUS, not the other way around.

With the upcoming V2, military strategy will no doubt change. It appears to be going towards a more tactical PVP, which I, for one, will enjoy if it works well. Also if I don't lose all my wellness from being shot at by tanks. If that can even happen.

Anyway, in the meantime, I'll redirect all civillians to DoD Orders. We'll help where we can, defend our allies, and ensure that we liberate as many economically and militarily valuable regions as possible.

It may not be RL, but I still consider the American to be the best soldier in the world.

We have the world's most badass tanks, anyway.

Final Question: Why is LC Running in North Dakota?

Originally, I had planned to run in Iowa. This was mainly because there are five secular things that I love: Myself, America, Well-Written Novels, Women, and Corn.

Also, as I said at the beginning, I'm from Iowa IRL, and I started this game there. The state holds great meaning for me. However, after consulting with the UIP leaders, we determined that it was wiser for me to run in Andhra Pradesh. There are multiple reasons for this, not the least of which was that my party thinks I am too addicted to corn and soybeans. Also the Hawkeyes.

Of course, I had to move to North Dakota due to later problems. So, I'm there now.

Thank you, and make sure to move to Iowa and vote for Lucus Casius!
