Looking to the future

Day 2,880, 19:27 Published in India Albania by Ruler of The New World

If there are three things that my time playing eRepublik has revealed to me about the game, they are are the following:

-The sheer audacity of the wider community in its aims
-The close relation to RL mechanics in game
-And the ability for the populace to do a full 180º do what needs doing.

I am here today to talk about the third.

Understanding that due to certain ads, carefully placed and propagated by our government team and admin, the sudden baby-boom is most definitely not natural . That is to say, we cannot expect this kind of boom in the near future.

Remember that.

I left for a school camp during the last day of the the much talked about Operation Burning Base, the event, in itself not only sparked a tremendous, and I mean a truly tremendous increase in game activity. I was lucky that the tourney took place during the school holidays enabling me to do more than a few 3ams in trying to gain the prestigious Base Burner Decoration.

The afore mentioned decoration.

During those long nights, I was kept awake through several means. The first of which was utilising my new Skype account on the eIndian chat, the second was writing my beginner article which you all should read and the third was chatting, through the MU chat to new players and giving the basic tips and hints to get them going.

I know after being recently instated as Deputy MoE and Head of Media, I have been largely inactive due to RL circumstances. However on my return it astounded me to see the amount of activity present.

I had expected an increase after the BB tourney, with patriotic blood running high, but this... this was new.

The Media had exploded. The sudden influx of new players (Hi there!), our urge to keep them and the heightened activity rates in game brought forth a social geographers dream situation, that is of course if geographers are actually eOgraphers (but that is besides the point).

My Social Revolution article, which was swamped by tourney Battle Order articles and political updates, has not been read and followed through exactly, but instead changed and developed unconsciously, not through my directions and guidance and Head of Media but by the populace's own determination, grit and RL procrastination.

Par example, I myself am only really writing this article because I am trying to get away from Hess's Law and Bond enthalpies.

I digress.

For those of you who didn't read my article(and you really should) the gist of it is as follows:

"I'm challenging you to publish one article per week per newspaper, it could be a joke or a news link, a funny video or whatever- it's activity that matters. Get the country up and running again by getting the people up and running again."

Well the people are certainly up and running, and a shout out to iam dinko for his fresh style and articles and to Patanjali, whose nigh mythical magazine Gog and Magog has begun to show on news feeds again.

There is also a new MEGA INDIAN ARTICLE COMPETITION that has begun, read the linked article for details, and there are huge prizes to pick up.

Already media, and thereby social activity has begun to pick up.

Awesome...

The nature of media is sensationalist, that is it comes it goes then its over. Considering eIndian history in my experience our Media Industry reflects this sensationalist idea. Now I do NOT want this to happen. Like with fads such as Magic The Gathering, Minecraft or TechDecks (which in my experience also died) I hope most sincerely that our new media boom does not also.

So I am re challenging you. Regardless of the domestic competition, and the sudden requirements for "quick start guides" and the insatiable need for useful articles I implore you beg you even to not just fork out the time for virtual currency or imaginary gains. Do it for FUN! This article took fifteen minutes to write (yes, I came back to put this sentence in). So what is a fifteen minute break from your homework, or bad TV or your unsatisfactory porn, when you can write an article.

I have said this before, the article need not be good, informative or intelligent, but I for one and I am sure there are many out there, do not want this boom and amazing increase in activity to die, and this, I believe is one of the best ways to do it.

I suppose I am genuinely excited about eIndia's coming months. My activity although decreased due to RL studies and sport will be reserve for Daily Tasks, the occasional patriotic war and weekend articles. Sorry but I just won't be able to find the time, BUT I will reply to PMs and Skype messages.

But luckily there are those in our eIndian government who are so dedicated that they fully embrace the nation's needs. Pizzarayne, Bholenath, Lysander Spooner II, lHonouR, BrknSword, SpaceMonkey.11, GrafSprat and Kunal Grover. I wish to thank them for what they are doing and have done for this game.

So keep up the good work, because by being an active nation we support each other and new players, and in doing create an extremely attractive world in which to play this game. And considering that this population boom is unlikely to occur again soon, and a large proportion of that boom will not catch on, it goes without saying that the nation needs every ounce of activity it can get. I think Pink Floyd's Have a Cigar sums our situation up perfectly:

"It's a helluva start,
It could be made into a monster
If we all pull together as a team
