Let's Hang Together Or Surely We Will All Hang Separately

INVITATION
To live like a tree single and at liberty
and brotherly like the trees of a forest,
this yearning is ours.

DAVET
Yaşamak bir ağaç gibi tek ve hür
ve bir orman gibi kardeşçesine,
bu hasret bizim...

-- Nazım Hikmet

Ten Points of Solidarity

Some of my friends think the iNCi are "PTO" artists bent on destroying the eUSA. Who knows? Maybe they are.

Others say they're exactly what they seem to be: a group of young Turks looking to have some fun playing this game by enlivening the eUS with their own particular brand of political mayhem. That seems more likely.

Now, tbh, they do use lots of letters in their alphabet that I wasn't taught in elementary school. That's true. Pretty damn strange ones too, like ğ and ı's like that. Yes, i's with no dots over them, can you believe it? I mean, for the love of god, where's the dot?!?!?!!!

But you know...

In the city where I live (yes, in RL America):

* Voting instructions are provided in seven languages
* The valedictorians of the city schools are almost always Vietnamese kids, and
* The people I work with are from every corner of the globe.

I mean, people in my little city speak three different versions of Portuguese, fer chrissake. And despite all that, though it has snowed quite a bit, the sky hasn't fallen. So far. Just sayin', immigration has worked out pretty good where I live. So it doesn't scare me in RL. Look, I wouldn't go on and on about that RL stuff, 'cause I know somewhere Dr. Tango is watching and getting upset with me, except that I've noticed some louche talk about "foreigners in our country". As if that was supposed to be a scary, scary thing in RL.

Well. It's not. At least not where I live. So that's that.

So far, this wave of immigration doesn't scare me in-game either. I'm pretty much of a like mind with Smily132 and Osmany Ramon on such questions. (They would be, respectively, the founder and the re-founder of the Socialist Freedom Party.) First off, feuds are part of the game. Get over it. Second off, the political system is so locked-down by the old guard, it just barely feels like "my" country anyway. Who gives a flying sawbuck if somebody wants to rock the boat a bit? Might even do some good. Get some fresh faces working on things.

Maybe I'm just an old fool and soon we'll all be forced to eat menemen for breakfast, drink ayran with every meal, and turn our shopping malls into 550-year-old grand bazaars.

But I doubt it. Especially that last part.

By the way, I don't think Glove is a "pawn" of iNCi either, as some of his opponents (whom I suspect may have been drinking, or possibly imbibing some kind of illicit substance, or maybe even working on some shenanigans of their own... just sayin') have suggested.

In fact, I'm glad the SFP -- and a good number of other parties -- have endorsed the "Glove is Love" campaign. A little respect goes a long way towards breaking down suspicions.

So vote for Glove.

Then get out there and kill ya some Indonesians.

California must be free.

Ursa Fi!
