Let's get Serious Now
You wanna know a really clever way to get your more serious, yet less appreciated articles read? Write a silly one that people will actually vote to the top 5 and add the serious article onto the silly one. So let's get serious now.
So now that I have your attention, I, like so many other politicians now and days, would like to declare my candidacy for congress. What we refer to as the Legislative Branch is so much more than the title implies. The congress is the body of individuals chosen by the people to decide how the country should function, but far more importantly, it is to ensure that the voices of the citizens are heard by the entire eCanadian government.
Quick summary of what kind of person I am. I’ve served congress thrice in the past, once as the Speaker of the house. I am well versed in the checks and balances (what the legislative can and cannot do as well as the executive) and I believe those divisions of power should be absolutely respected, as well as the laws and procedures the past legislative bodies have established. In addition to my past experience in Parliament, I am currently serving my fourth term as a Party President (of the Canadian Social Democrats) which means I have much experience in working with other people, as that is essentially what leading a party requires. During my past terms in congress, not only did I feel inclined to work with my fellow congress members in order to ensure that progress was being made, but also with any citizen who was willing to participate in the government.
Very often, congress can be a place of massive arguments. This is at times a necessity in order to ensure that our country takes the best possible route, however, sometimes these debates can become quite heated and are affected by our own personal ambitions or even, dare I say, the image under political career. Debates of this sort often result in little progress and are in no way beneficial, and I tend to avoid, or try to prevent congress from losing sight of the true goal of administering the country.
The situation of our economy appears to be the main issue at the moment, so I’ll express my opinions on that. If there are any other issues you are curious to hear my stance on, please feel free to ask in the comments, or in a PM.
There are always requests for taxes to change, and now there’s a call to devalue the CAD. My stance is, oddly enough, for once rather conservative. I would prefer to see the CAD stabilized by the government at its traditional value. Mind you, I would still be open to devaluation if I was shown something convincing. I do operate an oil company that is dependant on exporting, and it had to close down. Perhaps if the CAD was a little weaker, I may just have a chance at profit, but honestly, the benefits of a strong CAD outweigh your average general manager from maybe making a profit.
The way I see it, wages are good, products are cheap, and there is no lack of jobs. In my opinion, the average citizen is more important than the average general manager, and at the moment, life is pretty good for us citizens. I also believe that the situation can change very easily, which would cause me to change my own beliefs, but at the moment, I don’t see anything unhealthy with our markets. We’re the 16th most populated country yet our GDP is ranked 13th, and despite having one fourth of the population of America, we export more than they do.
That’s me, and I would love to serve all of you in congress, and I would ask you to seriously consider me. Now, let the silliness begin

It's been over a month since ~hyuu~ came to eCanada, however it has since spread to various other countries, and will one day dominate the entire eWorld. There are several supporters of the ~hyuu~ , but with great success comes great enemies, and there are also numerous ~hyuu~ haters out there, and an opposing force known as -annu- has even appeared. So be aware supporters of the ~hyuu~ and may the ~hyuu~ be with ~yuu~
