Leadership, at home and abroad

Day 1,227, 20:57 Published in USA USA by Pfeiffer.

As I stated before, a President’s ability to trust his staff is paramount. With this in mind I sat down to run through the short list of people I felt were qualified to be my Chief of Staff. I needed someone who had the knowledge of how the Executive needs to be run, someone I could trust with access to every aspect of my Administration, and someone who I knew could handle the demands of the job.

With this in mind I went to ask Speedcat McNasty to serve with me, as Chief of Staff.

Speedcat’s role will be to help me select my staff (currently ongoing), and to set each department their tasks in each day’s Daily Briefing. He will act as my own personal firewall. I trust him to handle issues as they arise, and to bring to me the things which will require my direct involvement. However, Speedcat won’t be alone. Sure, he’ll have his two Deputies (if interested, the application is found here), but he will be assisted by someone who has as much institutional knowledge and experience as anyone.

Inwegen shall serve as my Senior Presidential Advisor. His role will be to assist me, and my cabinet, as needed, and to provide backup to them when called upon. It is my goal to have him pass along his wisdom to the people I hope to train to be our next generation of leadership. If even a fraction of these two people rub off on the newer cabinet members, America will be in safe hands.

When beginning to plan my Administration, I needed a strong figure in the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs. Someone who has proved that they can work in tough situations, and help lead nations. The ability to work with foreign leaders, and alliance staff, is crucial.

The obvious choice is former American President, Dishmcds.

Dish is a seven time President, USA (2), Mexico (1), and the UK (4). He helped create the original PanAm Alliance, and was Secretary General of Phoenix. Here in the US, he built the original Department of Defense, and helped create the American military. He’s easily one of the best players still active in eRepublik, and will be able to work well with leaders from many nations, and to help me in my work with Terra, and to set viable long term goals for the country.

Dish is a butt, however he’s our butt again, and America is all the better for it.

Teaser for the next article: The roles Deificus and Alexander Hamilton will play in the defense of America.
