Day 1,230 of the New World

Election News Updates:
INCI captain33 has begun publically endorsing George Pumpkinette. A relationship that was once bitter was healed by some humility from both camps. Resultant conversations have lead to a meeting of the minds. Will eUSA benefit? Voters will not be able to decide. Pumpkinette cannot receive votes as of server reset and his campaign is no longer viable. 16 Shells says, “Don’t go away, George Pumpkinette.” 16 Shells also wonders if the good captain knows his game mechanics.

Laxsnor is also done.

Phoenix Quinn has backed out at the last minute, throwing his endorsement into Emerick’s camp. Will the SFP voters follow? And who might SFP PQ supporters have supported if PQ were not a choice?

Lefty from Mulberry St has picked up the endorsement of the Fraternal Brotherhood of Defense, putting his opponents in quite a pickle. If you have been ignoring Lefty up until now, perhaps it is time to listen. Strangely, he also appears as Pizza’s running mate. How will the voting public view this significant association?

Emerick now has 7 endorsements, including the Libertarians, the Federalists, and UIP. This creates a bloc of top 5 parties (sans USWP and INCI), along with SFP and three other 6th parties.

Henry Arundel has not let up. The USWP endorsement is Zombie Huge. His campaign has been the most public and published (most polished goes to Emerick). Can the Colonel pull it off?

The primary question for the voting erePublik is this: do you know enough about the candidates to vote your mind rather than your party? Not that it is at all bad when your mind and party agree. But the question, again, is, “Do you know enough about these 3 candidates – Emerick, Arundel, and Lefty – to vote YOUR mind?”

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: 16 Shells is aware that there are two other candidates on the ballot, but does not regard either as being in serious contention. They are no less serious as available options for your vote, mind you, but 16 Shells does not foresee either garnering near enough votes for victory. We also thank Pizza the Hut for participating in the pre-Election dialogue, as he added some spice.
Here are the remaining candidates’ answers to two questions about their personal life. The first bears an impact on their candidacy, the second proves they are all human. But first,
A word from our sponsors:

Today’s Topic is Personal Life.
Let’s get down to business:

QUESTION #9: Presidential burnout seems to be a recurring issue. What steps have you taken to avoid RL burnout?

~Emerick:
I really enjoy being president, and I though I did feel moments of overwhelm, a good night's rest always seemed to cure it.

~Lefty from Mulberry St:
I've just rebounded from a burnout, and wont have another for a while, I'm sure. I decided that ridding my neighborhood of welfare dependent drug dealers was more important than eRep, so I took a break, amongst the other tasks I've tackled iRL in the past months. Despite the tasks I wish to start work on in eRep, I know that this is just a silly browser game and do not take it very seriously. That having been said, what I plan to do if elected will be a matter of iRL honor, as a man of my word I would be upset iRL to not accomplish/get a good head start on accomplishing my goals in bettering this game for us and our allies, due to the fact that we need it. It is time to be greater.

~Henry Arundel:
Honestly, if I win, burnout won't be a problem for me. I'm already online all the time, and I can do eRep at work. If anything, show some love to my Cabinet, as I'll be keeping them very, very busy.

And now another word from our sponsor

QUESTION #4: What other computer-based games do you play, and will you miss them during your Presidency?

~Emerick:
I'm juggling Persona 2, Final Fantasy VII, and Resident Evil 3 on my pSX right now during my nights. But I've been watching the Resident Evil series(my favorite bad movie series) instead of that recently, so hopefully it'll be a smooth transition. I don't really get into PC games.

~Lefty from Mulberry St:
I don't have a facebook or a myspace account. I don't have an XBox ore even know what the new game systems are called anymore. I have a phone and people can call me if I am needed. All I do when online is eRepublik.com and things related to erepublik.com. There is to much work to be done iRL for a person like myself to sit and stare at my monitor.

~Henry Arundel:
Biggest one now is Die2Nite, and no, I won't miss it. It takes me about 5 minutes a day to play, so I'll keep it going.

That's it for today.
The last question for tomorrow is really no question at all. Each candidate was given an open mic to PONTIFICATE. Be sure to check back and read what they said.:
