Introduction
George Armstrong Custer

Welcome, dear readers, to the third edition of the Lap Dancers' Gazette, the Official News Source of the Liberty Advancement Party. Today’s edition represents the culmination of the lesson in which we interview heads of departments at the Cabinet and other-Parties level..

The Media College, in addition to putting out this newspaper, also published this week’s edition of The Speakers Word, and contributed a segment to the Friday edition of WHPR.

Department of Human Services
Staff Writer Sharky Malarkey, with Secretary of Human Services EnterAwesome

One of President NewAzazel’s accomplishments in his first term was the creation of a brand new department, the Department of Human Services (DHS).

EnterAwesome is the Secretary tasked with building and developing the DHS into a vital component of the Cabinet. She brings an impressive resume to the table, having run the Department of Education for two terms and being a former Secretary of Media. She also has extensive knowledge at the Party level, having served as VP and PP for the Federalists.

EnterAwesome tells us about the new DHS. “It was made to do jobs that don’t fit in well with other departments. The first thing we did was create an application form for government jobs. Recently, we’ve been partnering with the Dept of Education (DoE) to help them with events and ideas for noobs.” DHS recently wrapped up their first Personal Missions event, which was termed “a big success. I remember coming home to 30 messages \o/” Expect a second event to come soon.

Sure, the Cabinet departments that have been around for years have proven their worth, but a new department like Human Services that is allowed to function across the lines can breathe new life and fresh air into this eWorld.

Media: WHPR and WWG
Staff Writer DylanBAS, with SecMed Melissa Rose and WTP PP Hale26

Many political Parties, MUs and Cabinet Departments run their own newspapers. Today we’ll chat with Melissa Rose of the White House Press Room (WHPR) and Hale26 on behalf of the We The People Writers Guild (WWG).

While the WHPR is a segment format newspaper and the WWG is a group who write full length independent articles, both Melissa Rose and Hale26 function as managers of talented writers. Hale26 tells us, “Actually, it's Tanishq who runs the Writer's Guild. I just give instructions; She's the one making it work.”

I asked how they pull together the resources, make assignments, and the general process leading to a finished product. Melissa Rose explains, “Sometimes I come up with ideas. Sometimes there is stuff going on that just makes sense to write about. Most of the time I ask for ideas from the group of writers in the WHPR group mail thread. As assignments are submitted to me, I paste each segment into my template and edit them. I start laying it out section by section, then look it over several times to make sure it's perfect.” The WWG works a bit differently, as Hale26 explains; “We offer constructive criticism to each other and promote activity on members’ articles through comments, votes and shouts. WWG also helps with the writing process itself, through article ideas and assistance in editing.”

Both the WHPR and WWG provide opportunities for writers to excel at their craft, and to have their works seen by a lot of players. This rightfully increases their influence on the national scene and secures their future as organizations of integrity in the Media. The eUSA owes a debt of gratitude to these institutions for keeping our media plenty and informing
weak closer.

Retention: Department of Interior and Federalist Party

Staff Writer Nester, with Feds Retention Director Dr Luis Sentieiro

Any time a new Director takes over a Department he may find everything in apple pie order, or in total disarray. Dr Luis tells us, “When I took over, there was no staff and it was reduced to just mass messaging people. I tweaked the department, added tutorials, a mentoring program, a supply program, and the weekly statistics for who joins which party.”

Dr Luis confides that he’s sometimes caught off guard by the efforts of other Parties. “Its forced me to step up and redouble my efforts to get the word out and direct people to the Federalist Party. New players can often be eager and have many questions, and it takes patience to answer those questions and continue to direct them to the proper programs so that they can get the most help.”

Over at the LAP we’re just beginning to put our Party departments together. Any guidance for a fledgling Retention Director? “Sure. you need to immerse yourself in information. Familiarize yourself with all the programs offered by the Department of Education and the Department of Interior. Try to create programs that already achieve results in other parties. Above all else, be cordial and patient with both your staff and the players you serve.”

Education with SoE
Staff Writer TellUrGrlThx, with Secretary of Education Alexandrer Coin

The eNASA program is the premier focus of attention and effort in the Dept of Education this month. There were a few hiccups in getting it going, like eRepublik changing links in the articles, but overall the results have been tremendous.

A while back, the Ministers of Education from many eNations held a convention-- more like a huge brainstorming session-- to design a universal curriculum to teach newbs the mechanics of the game. “The MoE Convention was an absolutely rewarding experience. Apart from conversing within various time zones, with different Ministers of Education, I was able to to work alongside other countries, discussing ideas, and plans on implementing a basic structure of learning.” He also noted the possibility of future MoE conventions, to continue to learn from other MoE’s from other countries.

“The eUSA Department of Education will be putting forth the time and effort to continue having MoE Conventions, having updated results, and bringing in more ideas, as we continue to help new players find their way around the game.”
