Lana n' Pals = V1.5 (Changes in War, Economics, Hospitals)

Showing off my moves to Astra Kat G.

22 January, 2009, Day 794 of the New World – It has been a long time since I have written one of these long analytical articles, but it directly corresponds to the current argument of war and the economy. Also, I might as well touch on the hospital argument. Enjoy!

The ”Rudderless Ship”

My predecessor, Josh Frost, released an article in which he called the nation a “rudderless ship.” Many have seen this as a direct insult to me, and quite frankly, I cannot say they are mistaken. However the context was intended, this ties into the debate I have in the next section of this article.

Me playing “Captain Jewitt,” and no – the context is perfect.

However, his accusations are fairly founded. “Our citizens are dying due to inactivity. Our economy is suddenly less than up to snuff. It appears to these eyes that we have no clear national agenda in terms of diplomacy or military policy.” Despite it being a cry against how this month has gone, I have to agree. But wait, I am agreeing to criticism against me? Well of course, I have done it before and you should try it yourself. It’s called being self-aware.

Unfortunately, this nation is stuck for reasons we have tried to keep to ourselves, behind closed doors. Now I feel it is my duty as your elected leader to tell you. Will this be considered a misguided excuse? Will I be called out on some spelling error? Who cares, this is the damn truth, and no matter how much it sucks, it still holds its weight.

Lana n’ Pals Killed the Game

When Lana was introduced, with her GOLD-guzzling seasoned commanders, she was met with split response. Many enjoyed her presence, others hated it. Oddly enough, the richer and more experienced players whom would benefit the most were the most outspoken against the addition. We have a phrase here in the Southern United States: “Here’s your sign.”

Seriously, wouldn’t that ambient background be better this way?

Yet, the feature remained even after the “7 day split test,” which was just a test period to see how much GOLD they could get out of every day citizens. Now we are seeing its affects on the global scale.

National treasuries are emptying of GOLD, but filling with their local currencies. GOLD has come in short supply on both an individual and national level as citizens are scrounging up every penny to pay for Napoleon.

Our intelligence agencies, our own independent citizens, and even my own personal rounds have showed the same thing: International monetary markets that sell Local Currencies for GOLD are at an all time low while the other side, selling GOLD for Local Currencies, are on a stable track. The only exception is Poland, but that is quite obvious. Then again, for how long will they be exempt?

Life Before Lana

All of our economic theories, planning, and doctrine was developed without a Lana or training grounds. Times have changed, and in essence, the economics module has changed.

Before, it was straightforward. With exception to very minor cases (wellness packs, starting up companies), primarily the government used GOLD and the citizens used currency. GOLD was a tool of war, currency was used to stimulate the economy via daily purchases, and it was a happy cycle.

Famous Greasemonkey Script from Publius – Makes Lana easier to see!

Citizens had very few products to look at buying with GOLD. Companies…that was about it. And even then, few had the attention span to save up 20 GOLD or more and many would start up companies and stop there. When Lana came, it made GOLD a useful currency to citizens on a wide scale. This is great for the citizens, terrible for the government.

Now, the gross majority of the e-world’s citizens are saving for training which will help them in the long run. But if the option is always there, why stop paying for training? This means the government cannot obtain as much GOLD anymore.

By introducing Lana, the Admin have effectively made it more difficult to wage war. War declarations, battle costs, Mutual Protection Pacts, and wellness packs for the occasional tanking. All require GOLD, all used primarily by the government. Citizens do not use any of these services except wellness packs, and even then on rare occasions when looking on the international Alliance X v. Alliance Y scale.

And this is why the United States has been unable to increase its offensive after the War for the Three Pillars. So citizens, if you want war you have options (Petition Lana or stop using her). Unfortunately, they all take your free time and maybe even bullion wealth. It is your decision, but no matter whom you elect on the 5th, 15th, or 25th the facts will not change.

Now it seems that we are in a new era, a "V1.5" where everything must be reconsidered. Just possibly that hospital debate is more timely than some feel.

» It is your duty to vote and subscribe to the White House Press Room. Why? It’s your duty as an Admin-fearing American to.

» I forgot to talk about hospitals, did I not? Oh well, I will probably get one in eventually. Stayed tuned, and subscribe to The Report.

» I am a fan of amateur covers, as an amateur bassist myself. This drum cover really impressed me, and I wanted to share it. Thanks to James Strife for showing me!
