Krakkens Soap Box: Socialism in eIreland(pp election speech)
Releasethe Krakken
For some times the ILP lead the CP stakes and had several CP months.
Unfortunately this never translated to a socialist government. Are we pretend socialist or do we want to see real socialist policies brought into eIreland.
Stockpiling money do not contribute to a better Ireland. Often we are trapped in a negative cycle: Money is stockpiled and goes to MPP's and the Irish Army.
Our sole pursuit its seems are military. What about economy , what about journalism(not discussed), what about politics(not discussed). At 1 point in military you see that those that are number 1 to 10 may not be what you want. You want to make your imprint on the game in another manner.
That is as negative as this article will go and is rhetorical in nature. No need to comment on this part. . I want you to put on your positive hats now.
We have seen the positive change the TG Upgrade program brought. Too long have our CP held the attitude let the Appleman handle the finances. No Sirs ,Griannes and Nogins Appleman would be there to administer the accounts the CP is there to make critical decisions on how to use the money.
Do you want to see a growing pile of money (capitalism ) or a government that works towards stronger players or more independent younger players. When I watch something like Mountain Men I am amazed how those people can life of the land. Something that has fascinated me since I learned of a engineer who previously was a nuclear or electric engineer who worked for a high salary and one day decided he is doing more harm than good. So he bought a big house and stopped working and every day work towards solutions to go off the grid completely .
How does this translate to eRepublik easy if a person builds with government help 10 Alluminium factories bringing in 1500 WRM at an average of 0.05 cent he will make 75 IEP a day. Which he can use to buy food or WEPS or TG upgrades or whatever, But each day for the rest of his eLife he will have that income. So if he uses his money wisely he will grow to be independent of government . Thats just an example.
So my aim as ILP leader will be a program called the Ireland Social Development program who as cabinet minister and staff will work towards not only social investment in our players but also business loans and as well mentoring programs. Currently we strive towards learning players to make better soldiers but we could also have experienced players like Bhane mentoring new players so that they build their own business empires up. This will be more than articles but a pm thread with all our young grasshoppers in it and then using the articles to help them out here and there or tell them how to eventually be an empire. For this program the MOF will start by allocating a huge amount at first say 1 million. With donations and profits the Mof make we will try and keep the ISDP afloat so that new players also develop our economy .
A strong economy will lead to a stronger military , lower mortality rates as well as a small nation with the richest per capita income. Also this will help create a social conscience with younger players and lead them to when they mature economically to contribute more to the government and to the ISDP. Creating a positive circle that will make us a powerhouse and the leading small nation in eRepublik.
To accomplish this pursuit I need the members of the ILP to vote for me and make us the party that made the difference.
So vote krakken ! Vote change!

at last a real socialist in the ilp!

Honestly I have to say I actually like this article and it brings some interesting ideas that could be looked at further. I believe some of them have been utilized in the past.
Having experienced players tutor new citizens is an old idea but it is still a viable one.
Loans I believe was done years ago perhaps in V1 but again it would help new citizens prosper and could greatly help older citizens although the problem is getting to pay up without the old contract system there used to be.
To be honest there isn't really much depth to keep new citizens interested in this game. Two-clicking until you become a power-house in div 1 doesn't really appeal to many people but I don't think there is much we can do as it is a game mechanic problem more than anything. Although having a older citizen communicating and teaching newer citizens could be possible way of making them feel welcome.
Personally I feel this should be more of a CP article or a pm to a potential CP candidate, alternatively you could just get it started by yourself, I would support you where I could.
i write these articles and many times a Cp candidate would adopt the policies. loans would be for older players . younger players would get a non returnable "handout"for lack of a better word. an older player would appreciate more of a loaning system and would repay as they would be able to use it in future as well.
useless noob
Appleman belongs to me and Nog? Cool.
Lucky him.
Lucky us!
XXX has transferred 300 Q7 Weapons to your storage.

Out of interest, how did you confirm Grainne was a woman?
nogin do i detect a bit of jealousy there. i think we call it reading. did you think she send me some nude pics of herself?
patetic fool get a life
But mostly lucky him \o/
"Do you want to see a growing pile of money (capitalism ) "
I lol'd so hard.
The growing pile of money in the bank is the exact opposite of capitalism. The need for such state wealth is because we have a socialist/commune system in eIreland. Capitalism would rely on the market to provide supply needs to the people. Taxes would be dropped to lower prices, and the bank would not need to fund subsidies for a state army commune. eIreland thrived under such a system long ago, and the bank carried no balance of note. It was not a lure to potential corruption. The moment we changed the system to what we have now, eIreland attracted people like sawc, and the inevitable theft occurred. Now eIreland has to be extra careful about the CP position, or the next great theft will occur.
again you see nothing but military again you see nothing but your narrow viewpoint of eireland to justify your own ideas. If the Irish army operate at 1333 per day (your own words do not lie about them) then there is no need to have a 2.3 million treasury to pay for it. You all have become so blinded by seanan's brainwashed dogma that you forget about basic economic planning. 2.3 million covers 1725 payments of the IA that is enough money for the next 4 years 7 months about and we are discounting the profits we are continuously making . anyway state funds cannot just go for military anymore. we dont have even a war for the last 2 years that lasted longer than a month so how do we justify this big 2.3 million military budget bhane.
Not my own words... another lie by you.
I have never commented about specific numbers because I am not involved in the IA subsidy funding.
You are still making the mistake of looking at the bank as a pool of cash to spend. It is a capital investment structure. It is not 2+ million cc. It is the engine that produces a MM income of 30k or 60k or whatever the returns are in a given month. Right now we are just beginning to reach the level where the MM returns have a surplus that will allow reinvestment into MPP funding. This will mean a lighter burden on the treasury, and we can cut taxes to lower prices for the citizens. Chopping the bank in half would also chop the MM revenue in half, and the IA subsidy will be in a constant shortfall. Running a deficit would mean a little would have to come out of the capital balance to cover the difference, and the bank would spiral down to nothing.
Maybe you are completely naive about economics. Maybe you are purposely ignorant to the system, in order to spin the story you want to tell. Maybe you just see a pile of money and dollar signs are filling your eyes. The CP has discretion over spending, but it is irresponsible for a CP to just want to burn through a nation's wealth, no matter how charitable the rhetoric may sound.
I mentioned a new economic policy I was going to suggest to eIreland this term. I am waiting on the next reply to my ticket before taking that step. But I think you'll enjoy hearing it if you want changes to the system.

your a very good liar so good that i couldnt find your original quote and had to go to the treasury 33000 / 30 = 1100 which is about the ballpark figure i mentioned. also where is december report?
useless patetic noob
.. argument undermined by all the other thefts which occurred prior the implementation of 'socialist/commune system' and certainly prior when subsidies were involved (which in the time scales you are running with is relatively recent).
As a foot solider in this supposedly thriving ex-'free market' system, I'd point out that 'thriving' depending on your vantage point. Ignoring V1 mechanics compared to now for a second, eIreland during this period was a military weakling - for a number of reasons I was thoroughly exposed too and learnt from when I got into a position of authority. 'Thriving' for the V1 Industry leaders when the game had an economic side, whereas our militarily relevance was reflected in our international irrelevance. We were very poor in the basics of game functions.
"It was not a lure to potential corruption"
To list the prior robberies or suspect inefficient uses of taxes which occurred during V1... my strongest memory was logging Boris taking 4 supply loads, which unfortunately for him, didn't realize I began logging when he assigned me as a lowly officer. Corruption rampant from my memory - couldn't even expose Boris' regular nickings at the time or I'd been exorcised by those practicing politics.
But my last comment is that the system of big pots in State orgs is a feature of the game if we ever want to match other nations - not something which is retractable. 10 G limited on citizens, and no limit on ORGs, means the days of individual income reflecting as a national income is gone - being economic ahead in this game is a matter of buying a ton of gold regularly and/or taking advantage of ORG's no gold limit. Security is the name of the game. Everything else is aesthetics.
The problem, if you are reading this RTK, is Bhane is not blinded by my.. dogma. Hes got a romantic view of his past experiences of the economics in this game which we argue about as I try to convince him V1 is dead. Hes got a lover regret from all I see.
All those thefts you are referring to were done before the low-tax system with minimal, efficient MPPs that I am referring to. When eIreland made this change, it got rid of the bank carrying a balance for state expenditures. There were ZERO thefts during the era I described.
... There was also a working economic module at the time. 😞
If you are referring to V1, when being 'Left' was as damnable in eIreland as it was in the eUSA - when politics played around that taxes are unpopular and should be minimal - when we had a few MPPs (due to lack of taxes and lack of allies) and the government line was focus on 'deployments'... again, as a foot solider, was a load of bollocks.
You'll have to be setting some very specific period when making that statement - robberies happened all the time, subtle or blown up. But also depended on what you considered corruption.. like the 'efficient use of MPPs' and the focus on 'Deployments'; less Income tax for MPPs, more IEP for employers, but wages did not change, ticket industry grew, soldiers less supplies as a result of cost of movement on top of usual cost of supply. Industry leaders and associates were the politicians in power, but none either saw effects of these policies or willfully ignored them - as too busy role playing in the Dail. What I'd called a 'legitimate' robbery, or romantic incompetence. When characters like Boris managed to thrive recklessly and openly in these systems you speak of, when they have to hide in our current ones, I think you had a naive experience.
In the trenches during those periods, there was nothing so romantic as no robberies or corruption.
I'm referring to V2/earlyV3 when Stranger Here Myself was still around, and the media was full of all sorts of economic discussion and debates. It was a great time.
There were ZERO thefts in the era I am referring to. The OJ theft was far behind us, and the country was doing. I have no clue who the Boris character was, he must have been long before my time.
seanan yes there is a gold limit but the gold limit is an efficient target to gun for. once a player reaches an income of 10 gold a day he is financially independent and have a great enough income to contribute it in other manners. All I am saying is invest in other fields not stop investing in the military.
We introduced the social funding of the IA a couple years ago. Before that there was a period for like a year or more that was prosperous, with no bank balance, no corruption, no thefts, and still plenty of activity in the various communes, including the IA.
also bhane please stop this you basically derail others articles by bringing irrelevant topics in here. we have 2.4 million NOW we can use it to help players financially . there is no need to discuss the thefts continuously in an effort to derail the topic and bring in long comments which confuses players. there is no need to discuss v1 or v2 or any v for that matter i am reffering to RL economic systems by older players that do bring them a regular income.
also we can basically double our production now! this make our potential actions in this game 16 * 2 *10 = 320 actions. now i dont know if you are not good at business 320 individual actions can net you a potential income of 5760 per day which is not to shabby. ok so either return to topic or leave my article. you have said nothing that debunk my idea and I dont know why you have a problem with this except you didnt suggest it. But thats ok you can steal it for yourself like you stole tg upgrade idea.
I could still argue about V2, although neither of us could as strongly as with V1. Then it became more subjective.. and obviously I'd prefer we stick to topics I'd wipe the floor with you!
But I call your bluff on that year of no robberies, thefts and corruption before the funding of the Army (which just for the record is not the same period as its founding - thats just when it took more workers), Bhane. As there has been only ONE year so far which has not had any moments of robbery or corruption in eIrish history and that year is 2014.
My point is that you are talking about all that V1 drama. The era I am talking about was V3
V2 was a disaster that ended almost as quickly as it started. I only mentioned it because I can't recall if we went to the era I mentioned at the end of V2 or just after it finally died.
We can all agree that the V2 module should have never happened.
You're right, there was corruption. I should have been more specific. There was no "financial corruption" because there was no state funds for people to waste. There were definitely no thefts, because there was nothing to steal.
Army came into being at the start of 2011, funding came in... well not in significance til near 2012, and your first term (and wasn't that significant either). This article and comments from 2010 throw a bit of spanner in your works if you talking about the wonderful time before the IA's founding - http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1566624/1/20 .. if we go back into 2010 then we're back in my portfolio of drama and corruption.
Between Jan 11 and May 11 - there was one theft. Mirek stole the Community Org's funds, not the Bank - but still a theft. From May 11 to Oct 12 was then the only period of no thefts, which I recall, it was also when MPP funding for EDEN became an issue. It was also a period of heavy State oversight.
Its patchy, but its a memory aid http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Governments_of_Ireland
My first term was right at the end of the era I'm talking about. The community theft had slipped my minds. Still, it was not a theft of state funds, though certainly a corruption of the community department at the time. The community fund grew because people donate to it. There wasn't a bank that the state was growing.
Seanan, we're just going to have to admit that we're both right. 🙂
... But we had a very engineered tax system then too. And MoF was growing it ...
And nah, I got all weekend.
The military is prioritised because promoting military expropriation of the economy is the path to socialism in eRepublik.
The difference is that governments have refused to invest in long term infrastructure, so the government is slipping back into what is in effect a militia army funded by taxation rather than a professional army where soldiers work for the army as well as fight for it. That's mostly due to fear of robberies, I might add, as orgs no longer exist. Personally, I think orgs were actually less secure than granting trustworthy individuals the companies, but in the toxic environment of eIrish politics, no one will trust anyone else.
Also, wtf @ Krakken writing a thought provoking article.
The world is coming to an end.
yes thank you but i didnt say change military funding just take a chunk of money and build a fund. i guess it could be stolen but then again should that stop us from doing it. then we can just as well do nothing in the game.
more for you to troll if get stolen again patetic
Definitely agreed.
And I stand ready to help with ATO measures against Krakkheads, if ILP becomes under threat.
huh did i say i was going to organize anything. Seanan the only krakhead around here is not me or any of my friends( 🙂 ) if people vote for me you want to destroy their democratic rights by bringing in your own parties members to vote against me. tut tut seanan. please concern yourself with your own party.
adelsberger stop spamming articles with your insults. if you have a viewpoint share it with us.
Thats called "giving someone a taste of his own medicine"
nah its called trolling a serious article. Just go away go eat some sauerkraut or go listen to some crazy oompah music
I spam and insult retard you and you friend VK insult my family and me all the time so piss off from me. you cant write serius article if your life depends on it
Berger,The only insult to your family is you....coz no one cares about your imaginary family you keep involving in this online game...
only thing imaginary here is you thinking that you have a brai. You dont you dont even have sh.. in there just room for renting
problems with this article:
1. socialism and capitalism need to be re-defined in eR context. eR is not RL, therefore these terms are meaningless rhetoric.
2. investment infrastructure is not stockpiling.
3. in eR military is the the economy. damage is the ultimate and only currency. this whole game is about military goals and aims.
4. Re-occuring roles in government are due to excellent track records of performance and re-enforcement of public trust. This is why you will never be in government.
5. Economic investment in players is wasteful due to the lack of dependable buoyancy for private enterprise. All I ever hear is capitalists complaining how hard it is to make a buck... the game is broken get over it and stop asking for hand outs. You idea of socialism is free money for capitalists? Genius.
Didn't bother reading the rest of it. I'm sure that only begins to cover all the stuff that's 100% wrong about this article.
Well, the general ideas still apply. Democratic control of the economy and military as opposed to corporate or aristocratic control.
Nowadays, we're talking feudal MU control vs state-backed militaries as the two extremes, with the mixed military model being the centre-left position and the subsidised MU model being the centre-right model.
1. naw you just adjust your policies according to what your ideology is. socialism say divide the means and that can be applied only to state means.
2. 2.4 million in treasury with only +- 360 k for army and minimum 600 k for mpp with travel tickets active is stockpiling. and then we discount the profits MOF makes.
3. it soon wont be big players stockpile on EB's and hit in the neighbourhood of 100 to 200 million per battle(not strength related) therefore a normal player who joins DIV 4 already have no more military goals meaning big players are killing of the game there and that will be in every Division. Government cal literally supply no military help and the damage scored will remain the same with players buying gold with their cards.
4. there is all kinds of wrong with that your assumptions however is wrong and your assessment of especially yourself is way wrong. Its about your strategic ability I am a far better strategic player than you will ever be. Most of the time I am only hold back by time and money but lets look 1. tribal wars had 100 villages whereas players long before me had somewhere in the region of 1000 .2 the west - had every item in the game best overall player in that game. 3. various google + and facebook games - mob wars i was at level 500 or so farmville way above a normal player each game i invest in time i am near the top in. 4 erepublik probably top 10 economic players in our country(hampered due to usual time advantage others have above me. military GOW. If I really worried about the political game i would be more of a ass kisser such as you yourself however your totally wrong your not in my league and if i were in government we probably would be a top country in a few months.
