I think you are also confusing a Cooperative with a Private company.
But I am a bastard because we have been in offering grain 4 to 5 times cheaper than any other raw on the market.
If a medium productivity raw can do it what about high foreign regions? Fact is that all current problems are mostly to blaim because we do not have foreign raw state companies. If we would have started these from day 1 in v2 our economy would be much better now. Jobs would be available and goods wouldn't be overpriced.
I am all for raising min wages. And workers who stay at VAC will be rewarded in the end. For now offering jobs and cheaper food is a priority.

btw I am an Expert (lvl 7) builder and am earning min wages (0.10BEF) in a state company. Does this mean that the current government is ripping me off?

In theory foreign raw state companies are great!!!

However if and when war breaks out in that foreign region and the region gets lost, our own eGovernment wouldn't be able to import the raws anymore unless they would buy a new import licence...(20 gold per import licence if I'm correct?)
Even so the cost would be to great to bear: 1 organisation to hold the companies (5 gold) 1 stone, 1 oil, 1 iron and 1 titanium company (max price if bought new 160 gold) add to that 4 x import licence to eBelgium (80 gold).

A maximum total of 245 gold...

Then I would choose to negotiate like our eGovernment has done for now.

btw, It is also a false argument to compare grain with the other raw materials.

Food is a basic product whereas moving tickets, tanks, etc are not.
So it's only normal that grain is cheaper than the other raw materials. Otherwise I would be eating moving tickets imho...

You know what I find strange? I am getting criticized about being affiliated with the grain industry, about giving to low wages,...
But I have never gotten a thank you for investing gold in a non-profitable business, systematically lowering grain prizes and offering jobs in this time of unemployement.

You say food is a basic product. I agree 100% but sadly our government doesn't. Cause if it is a basic product we shouldn't become dependable of other countries. That's the way it is done in RL and that should be the way we do it in this game. I am also 100% sure that without VAC grain prizes would only start to drop now and probably would still be around 0.15 - 0.2 BEF

Btw your maths on the companies I do not get. To buy 4 new companies you do not need 160 gold but 80. So together with the licences and an org that would be 165 gold. We got 200 in the beginning of v2 and are going to partially subsidize foreign companies (How much gold has gone to foreign countries?).
