Jefferson Locke - Instinct or Awesome?

Day 1,839, 15:15 Published in USA USA by BritSeelowe

Instinct is something one is born with. For me, it was that my Chicago Bears defined awesome in so many ways. Over the years, they have not always prevailed, but it did not matter. It was, after all, Da BEARS! In many ways, da Bears taught me how to fight! Instinct!

It was a no brainer to accept the bet from Jefferson Locke. He was opposing my beloved bears and, though the Seahawks had made themselves at home in our house before, all indications told me that the game with the Seahawks would be an easy Bears win. Jefferson said, "Victory is what I do."

Sure, the Seahawks had a reputable defense, but the Bears defense rocks as well. The Seahawks also has a decent quarterback, albeit inexperienced. Cutler can play well if the Bears offense can give him time to do it. I felt pretty confident that my Bears would win and accepted his challenge!

The game started off right, and honestly limped along with the Bears easing to a 14 - 10 lead but then - almost as Jefferson predicted it - the Seahawks drove 97 yards down with less than a minute to play for a touchdown! 17 - 14 Seahawks. Holy cow! Still....I held on to hope. No one is that awesome, I thought and felt my thoughts confirmed as Gould kicked a 46 yard field goal and tied the game 17-17.

Then overtime....overtime. Overtime. How can I explain it??? Like as if magic took over. It is like a series of bad dreams. The Bears defense seemed winded. The Seahawks quarterback made zero mistakes. Even when Rice lost the ball in the end zone, the slow playback showed that the ball had already crossed the plane before it was lost!

I have but one explanation: Jefferson Locke is the most awesome man alive and victory is what he does. It must have been gifted to him at birth as he is so wise in the ways of football.

Beware of your awesomeness though, Jefferson. The wisest, most wonderful, incredible and fabulous man I know tells me with no question that my Bears will be playing your Seahawks again. And my fella, my guy is never wrong, because strategy is what he does.

A sad day for Bears....and a Seahawk victory....even fried, seahawk tastes like crow.
