1. common sense and common philosophy (accordding to Socrates) say so. If he cannot debate/answer questions properly - how do i expect him to contribute in the congress?
2. well, he can make a decision right? If he cannot even decide on little thing this - how can i expect him to decide on national issues?

1, If i remember correctly Socrates was executed for political reasons. Not sure his methods are cool to rely on, in politics.
