Congress Tax

It's been brought to many people's attention that several congressmen have not paid their Congress Tax, as per the constitution. Some people are blatantly refusing to pay the tax. eAustria needs the money now more than ever, we can barely afford any MPPs, Training Wars and what not.

Out of the 9 NFA Congressmen, none of them paid the 3 Gold tax. If they had paid then we would have more money to spend on Austria, we would have an additional 27 Gold.

The constitution is there for a reason, if people don't follow it then they are breaking the law of the country. They aren't good role models for future congressmen.

Alliances with other countries

Like I had said yesterday, I would be posting about what effect different alliances would have on Austria and other countries. Today we will look at France, it is small country and has had some degree of historical significance in our eHistory.

France

France is probably or most historical ally in eRepublik. Even whilst their army was in exile, they were able to help in the liberation of eAustria from Croatian forces. The president of France has declared that he wouldn't mind seeing an MPP set up between Austria and France again, there are no details about what our government think.

Benefits of Joining in an Alliance with France

~ Would be ideal as France and Austria are historical allies.
~ Both are relatively small countries, we'd need to defend each other.
~ France helped us in the liberation of Austria, we should return the favour.
~ We would help France to restore her original territories.
~ We may receive financial aid or aid in general if France is completely restored.
~ It is one of the aims of France to become allies of Austria.
~ We would have a military aim for once.

Disadvantages

~ France is a small country, we may not receive as much defence from France as we would from say the eUnited Kingdom or eHungary.
~ It may be impossible to help France against EDEN's forces.
~ Training Wars would be infrequent.

Summary

France appears like an ideal choice for Austria to ally with, however, we shall see over the coming fortnight if it is really a good idea.
