Into the Belly of the Beast

7 Day 730, 20:17 Austria
Now, with the recent Hungarian defeat in Burgenland I realize it may be a little pretentious to begin discussing a counter attack, especially given the recent collapse of the PEACE alliance that we hold so dear but this must be discussed.
The collapse of the PEACE alliance has, unfortunately, squandered what would have been our greatest opportunity to repay the Hun for their recent aggression. The UK's, Germany's, and Brazil's help is almost indispensable, they could have provided a panoply of the much needed foreign aid we'd require. They are almost indispensable. We can continue without them if we are willing to do what is necessary and leave behind the Allies that we have come to hold so dear, the allies who have left us in our time of need, and they have left.
Now, I know that many of those amongst us here are in Austria are in favor of an Armistice now that the president responsible for the declaration of war has been impeached. "Now that the man directly responsible for the attack is gone, all can be forgiven". Well, I won't forgive and I will not forget. Such a mentality is deplorable; simply because the aggressor is gone doesn't mean the threat is removed. This was a war of imperial conquest and a war that many in Hungary have supported, true many condemned these actions but that is now irrelevant, they have attacked and it is now imperative we show the militant arm of the Hungarian government the full cost of aggression. It is time we join EDEN and it is time we exemplified to our Hunic friends the true meaning of oppression and the cost of aggression. If all goes according to plan we'll receive the aid of the 11 EDEN nations as well as the aid of the US and Canada, both of which are also looking to repay the Hun for their own Burgenland.
This can be our time to shine Austria, our time to repay the Hungarian Empire for months of oppression and perhaps even to build an empire of our own, the empire that was snatched away after the first world war, the empire that was amongst the mightiest nations of the 18th century, the empire that left the Ottoman Empire, the destroyers of Rome (Byzantine empire), quaking in their pointed shoes. That is what we can create fellow Austrian's, that is what we can build if we just dare to act, if we just dare to fight back.

Thanks for your time to think about eAustrias future. Thanks, but no way.

eAustria never was an aggresive country and never will be. Most of us want to live in peace and harmony with our neighbours. We only received this huge support from all over the world BECAUSE of this.

We certanily will fight against any aggression to our nation with our blood but in no way eAustria will start an aggression to any other country "to build an empire". We won't forget this attack from our neighbour country, but we also won't forget the support from a lot of eHungarians condemning this attack, fighting by our side.

eAustria will play it's part in eRepublic, but certainly will not walk the path of aggression nor be a part of various dubious interests.

We are not Huns but Hungarians so please stop the racist remakrs, otherwise report goes to admins. I do not understand why a warmongering guy with Moldavian citizenship pretends to be Austrian.

Vast majority of Hungarians was 100% against the shameful attack against our Austrian friends (including myslef). I am very sad that it happened but somewhat happy that at the end democracy worked and the reasonably thinking majority stopped the creasy decision of one person at the top. If things work like this in RL Germany in the past Anschluss never happens.

We have so much historical ties in eRep and RL too with Austria that I can hardly describe to someone who seem to understand little of Central Europe. Many Austrians have some Hungarian or other Central European origin, and Many Hungarians have Austrian and other Central European people in their ancestry (including myself). We have similar architecture, coffee house culture, learned wonderful dishes from each other, etc.
We also used to be part of the same lively cultural zone during the Austro-Hungarian empire, where many people lived together in a fairly tolerant way (at least compared to what happened afterwards).

In recent history I still remember how helpful Austria was when our revolution in 1956 was crashed by the Soviet army. In eRep too Austria proved to be a real friend. This is why the majority of us was outraged to see our desperate president pushing the red button.

Servus Grantler,

Ich finde deine Meinung sehr Sympatisch!

Servus Ferdinand,

Danke, freut mich dass es auch auf ungarischer Seite kühle Köpfe gibt, die nicht sofort "Krieg" schreien.

Grüsse nach Ungarn.

Hun, offensive? The Magyar people find their origin in the far east and most likely with the Hun, I don't understand why you call it offensive to remark about ones origins.

Cornelius, Hungarian people do not find their origin in the Far East. (the area close to the Ural mountains is not Far East.) I like far Eastern cultures a lot but we are not Chinese, Japanese, Koreans or Mongols, but (Central) European people.

The link between Huns and Hungarians exists in the head of some people but it has never been proven by scientists. Although I do not share the negative views about the Huns I know precisely in what context many people use the word Huns. For istance, Germans were called like that in first World War British propagand, refering to some barbarian uncivilised hords from the East who have no place in Europe.
