Interview with Presidency runner-up, Dishmcds

0 Day 289, 13:38 United Kingdom
Well I finally managed to get an audience with Dishmcds, current PP of UKRP and close runner-up in the recent eUK elections. I asked him a few questions concerning the elections and where he will go from here.

How do you feel about the election results?

Well, I'm satisfied with it. As I stated, I was happy win or lose, and we've greatly improved the activity within our Party, and I can foresee our activity within the Government ranks going up. That being said, I dont like to lose but this time I was more than satisfied.

Is this what you expected?

To be honest, yes. I didnt think I'd beat KIA, but I knew that as a Party we had a chance. We have a strong platform and member base, and our recent revival gave us a good chance in winning. It would have been disastrous for us to make such headway and then turn around and not be able to run the Presidency. As a group I think we all agreed on that.

What will your first actions be now?

Well, we've already been busy in Congress, putting forward the proposal on an Open Commons we drew up (which I think Ronald Chris wrote the most recent draft of), and the amendment I proposed on the Apprenticeship scheme. Hopefully not only will this allow for smaller parties to put forward their strong people for Government jobs, but will allow for everyone to participate.

What do you intend to do long-term in preparation for the next elections?

I'm not sure, really. I have already stated that I am not running for Party Presidency (unless we encounter another problem). Rayf and a couple others are running for it (I think Katie is as well, but I'm not sure). I think so long as Rayf can commit the time to it (and the Presidency), then we're looking at the mountain top as a Party. Rayf should be able to gather some good experience, he's well spoken, and intelligent. I'll always be around contributing where I can and being active and supportive if Rayf needs it, and help the Party where it's needed.

Do you think you would ever return to eUSA or another country if you thought your political career here was over?

No. While I had a fantastic time in the eUS, most of the citizens that "grew up" in my time have since long passed. Some of my best friends are now overseas (as am I), and I have moved on. The US will stand on it's own two feet, how well has yet to be seen. I hope to stay here for now (as I am not sure I will stand for Congress next term either), and really just try to help out.

Well thanks to Dishmcds for the time and I hope you all find this informative.
