Interview with eJapan President Candidate
I had asked a few questions for the eJapan March President candidates a few days ago.
But I were having tons on obstacles so I'm sorry that I can only published this today.
Anyway, I know this should be published before election, so there is no need to make a comment to remind me about that.
01. What is your plan to eJapan regarding eRomania and eIndonesia future battle?
InfernoSD:
I don't like Romania or Indonesia. But Indonesia (and PEACE in general) has been there with the MPP for a long time, and that alone serves as a deterrent toward any hostile neighbors. I intend to fulfill our alliance and help defend. Perhaps it won't make much difference in the battle, but it shows support for PEACE, which we are still a part of.
And of course the battles may serve as a great training exercise for our soldiers. I think we need to be getting ready right now, checking to see if we have Weapons and Gifts enough. I have no idea how long the war will go on, but until the 6th, it's up to Akki to coordinate. If it lasts that long, and then I'm elected, I'll get on it.
Akki:
I believe we should sent some soldiers, mostly closely grouped, and supplied with Q1 weapons and moving tickets to help with the war effort, at the same time, increasing Japanese military strength by ranking up their field experience, which gives them bonus damage. No MMP will activate, due to the fact no battle will take place in the original region of either Romania or Indonesia, Thus most of our supply and soldiers must be sent by flying them directly into the war. We have large supply of Q1 weapons and moving ticket within our government companies, and they are currently operating to produce more, thus our soldiers will have plenty of weapons for days to come. We will fight with Indonesians, and our military operation will be ran by voluntary recruits under direct presidential Orders.
02. Will you be active in military management or you will let SoD to handle most of military management?
InfernoSD:
I still don't believe there is much to managing a military, especially in small countries. It's duty for just one person, I believe; the SoD will handle it.
Akki:
Since the last two month, I have let my SoD, King B run the military completely, and last month, InfernoSD and King B was giving complete task of running the whole military organization and upkeep 100%,And NO improvement were done on the military (when GLaDOS were our SoD, we had around 30 Soldiers, last week, there were 5), This time I will be fixing the direction the current military is heading by taking military management in more direct manners. Simply SoD will serve as advisors, and whole organization, running, and management of the army will run directly under President, where it will have quick reaction time when our country is in grave danger. So, President will take direct management of army with “some” support from SoD, and SoD’s main role will become an military advisors.
03. Do you think the idea to create an army in eJapan is plausible during your term (If you are elected) or not? Why?
InfernoSD:
I haven't spoken to King B about the current management of enlisted soldiers, so I'm not sure exactly what we have yet. My intent with the military will be to assure we have a minimum of five highly-reliable soldiers with good Strength and rank, so if Japan is attacked hard, we know exactly who needs the GOLD and supplies to fight with. Due to the mechanics of war in this game, the elite soldiers are still most important.
Beyond that, it'll be up to the SoD to decide how to manage soldiers. I think it would be easiest just code a script to list all of our citizens by Strength (with data on Rank and Wellness too). This could be run at any time for the full list, so we would have this information available and up-to-date quickly when needed.
Akki:
We have stable economy, and we have Troubling neighbors, who are unstable. I believe our military attention will be one of the first priorities, and main goal for this month will be to gain recruits, organize them, and send them aboard to increase their ranks, so they will have field experience. It will be tough goal, but I believe unity and cooperation, we can achieve this great goal of creating army. The army will start small no doubt, but some form of army will be created, and be on active duty.
04. Any plan to declare war or create war games in your term?
InfernoSD:
I have no current plans on personal wars. Well, I certainly don't see any use in trying to attack anyone right now. It'll just make enemies. But war games may be something to consider later in the month; for some countries, it does appear to greatly stimulate the economy.
Akki:
No. Our economy and our treasury is incapable of handling such costly “games.” I support long, steady and stable economy; not boom, bust and unstable economy. Creating economic bubble with such war game will be last thing on my do list, and even if we have opportunity to make such war game, I do not believe this will cause any long term prosperity on Japan. Rather it will cause inflation, making rich richer, by allowing them to invest in “war related field” while working men, and smaller general managers who are focused in Grain and food, our largest industry, will suffer, and possibly fail.
05. Do you have any plan to protect eJapan congress election from takeover attempt and gold-seeker congress member?
InfernoSD:
Protecting Congress. I think there's a lot of options available. I figure the best way to decide is to put it to vote:
- Security team that I suggested yesterday; it would check up on the history of every Congress candidate and report on suspicious sorts.
- Party Presidents announce who is and isn't a real member of their party.
- Inter-party cooperation, to agree to spread all the best candidates out so there's exactly two in each Region and/or to spread out the voters. (Most effective idea, in my opinion, but it may use many dozens of Tickets.)
I think Angrr should lead the discussion on this. He has some new ideas, and will explain them better than I.
Akki:
I believe there should be discussion between party presidents, and the citizens of Japan. However, I do not think we should go too crazy and all turn extreme xenophobia, which will drive our good and prosperous immigrants to pack up and leave. I believe there should be some understanding, and some agreements made between Party presidents, and some of the possible plans should be explored. However, if this will start Nativism movement, and anti immigrant, and anti foreign policy, then I will strongly oppose such plan.
06. What is your honest opinion regarding the quality and performance of latest eJapan congress member and cabinet member?
InfernoSD:
Congress has done alright, in my opinion. It's obviously a disappointment that we have so many who vote without ever saying a word, but it's a big step up from having so many that don't even vote. You can see that in the proposals of the last few months. They're getting better over time.
The Cabinet, I feel, needs to step it up. Well, also the President. I watch both the media and the forum closely, and there is little reported on what each position has been working on. If they're accomplishing things, great; I just want to hear it. If they aren't, then I want to get on their case about it until they work.
As I said, there isn't a lot to the SoD position, especially when it's split between two of us, but I still expected people would bother me about my duties and how little I've been doing. I do find that I work better if someone lays on a bit of pressure, but you (Kogarashi) were the only one to ask about it.
Akki:
I am highly saddened by it that the first proposals were made for personal gains, and without discussion. Our quality of congress, in my mind had dropped this month, And I had expressed my opinion regarding the new congress on my past article…
The Article
07. Do you have any plan to improve the quality of eJapan politician?
InfernoSD:
For Congress, I think every candidate ought to say something about themselves before the election. If someone wants to take up the duty, they can try to message them to get a short statement from them all, then publish all in one article.
For the Cabinet, I guarantee activity and communication. If it's favorable, we can try Cabinet meetings; if not, I'll try for weekly something else. Articles and forum topics are one way to keep the discussion going. At the minimum, I'll message them about their progress at least once a week. If positions need to be changed or someone needs to be replaced, that's just what will happen. And I myself will be publishing at least one article weekly about the government's status.
Akki:
I plan for some basic education and some simple guide line. However I do not which to create some measures, which will greatly unfavor new and rising politicians, while favoring old and perhaps unfit ones. As I said most of the plans will be some basic out lines that each congressmen candidate may or may not read. Nothing will be forced from the government, for the fear our government will become too authoritative.
08. According to your standard, how you can determined a congressman is good or bad or average?
InfernoSD:
The determining factor for Congressmen right now is discussion, and practically all of that occurs on the forum. So to see how they're doing, merely look for them in the past dozen topics in the government section. Ought to be making at least a couple serious posts.
Akki:
If there is discussion going within congress, and proposals are proposed after it is being discussed, then it is good congressmen. If the congressmen try to reach out to people and listen to them and carry out their will by voicing them, then he is true congressmen of the people. I also believe congressmen with strong personal moral and opinions are favored, since they are less likely to be swayed by the sheep flock affect, and they will continue to retain their views, and their voices. However, while such individualism is good, I also do believe those who cannot reach agreement, or compromise to be quite bad one which divides this nations into disunity. If they are quiet, but votes yes or no basing on their thoughts and their information gathered, then I think they are average. If they only care about themselves, or vote with sheep flock affect, or proposes proposals without discussion, then they are a bad congressman.
09. Can you tell us your opinion about each active party in eJapan?
InfernoSD:
Huh. Wish I knew more about the parties.
- TFC: Very happy with it, especially recently. But I don't think I need to talk about my own party.
- NAP: Lately, I've seen some more active members showing up here, good, but there are still many quiet Congressmen here. Party-line voting might be an issue too, with uninformed people just joining and voting for the largest party they see, but that remains to be seen for tomorrow's election.
- ISP: Not sure. King B made this very active very fast, then quieted down. Still, many of the members are becoming common faces around Japan, and they make for a rather patriotic group, out for the betterment of the country.
As for the other four, I don't know what to say. They're small and haven't voiced much lately, but each has a select few that I know are good contributors to the community. But there are issues, like NPJ's PP HiSoCReeD has only 7 Wellness. I'm surprised there hasn't been a merger or some more action by the small parties.
Akki:
NAP: I am too bias to comment. This is my own party.
ISP: Nationalistic, pro military, Pro-nativist. Have some xenophobic members, while others are right leaning or have strong nationalistic spirit. To me, they seem to focus on nationalism more than anything else.
TFC: Left leaning, and Pro experienced player. Of course this may not be true, but we see more of the comments such as “you are new so you don’t understand” or “you should learn more before speaking.” However, not all is like this, and most of them are pleasant to be with, and great diligent worker. I am also little bias here, due to the historic conflicts between NAP and TFC since our two party’s creation.
LIB: don’t know much about them. They have not spoken anything after the PP election basically.
NJP: I think of this as average anyone is welcome type of party. Nothing extreme, mainly centralist.
JLP: I believe this is smaller party who just had bad luck till now. Now that they will have Koka as their party president this month, they should regroup well, and organize for them to express their idea. Seems to have some great new ideas, and good party to keep eye on as possible candidate to join later, if you are citizens of Japan.
OP: seems to care mostly for individuals, stability, and libertarian views. Sadly at the current time, they are so small that their ideology and voice is wiped by other parties. However, they have good moral, and I believe they have competent leaders.
10. eChina most likely will be involved in eRomania and eIndonesia conflict. Do you think you will give eChina support? What kind of support and is there any requirement for it?
InfernoSD:
I don't know what role China will play in this, but if it faces attack, I'll certainly be giving Japanese support for them. The small east Asian countries need to look out for each other. At a minimum, there should be Tickets, Weapons, Gifts for soldiers to move and defend, but if it appears that it would make the difference between a win and a loss, I would also put together some GOLD for soldiers to buy Wellpacks. If the timing is opportune, I'll attempt to call in foreign support.
Akki:
Since Modelcon, Japanese vice president last month, is now in China, I will be speaking and contacting with him regularly for future Japanese-sino relationship. I o not know the side the china will be taking, thus it is still unclear how Japan can help china, but Modelcon had promised they will send the current Chinese plans, and their views as soon as their presidential election is over. Thus I will have to wait and see what they have to show us.
11. Do you follow the news about eMalaysia, eSingapore and ePhilippines political condition? Any comment about them?
InfernoSD:
Obviously none of us are pleased about the situation with 1000 GOLD plus local currency being stolen. I still have hope for admin action in this situation; a trial is still possible.
But from the look of things, many of the foreigners have left these countries and the real citizens are continuing on without the money. I try to support them, especially our ex-Japanese who are becoming the leaders.
Akki:
eMalaysia’s political condition is like PEACE-Atlantis relationship. Neither side is bulging, nor is anything getting done. It is mainly Indo VS Swedes, and to me, it seems more of personal conflict, and stupidity or the both leaders, to be unable to cooperate, or come to conclusion. eSingapore was sadly taken over, and their country is in tattered states. Their money and gold are all taken and was distributed, and they were left to suffer, without any money, and effective leaders. As for ePhilppines, I do not have strong connection or inside information on it, but politically speaking, they are equally as bad as other two, and is in sand dune….
12. Do you think you will resume eJapan recruitment attempt? Why? And how you are going to do that?
InfernoSD:
Recruitment ought to be continued. It's been noticably effective this past month, mostly due to the efforts of Angrr. (Just look at the 'reason for leaving' section in the Citizen sign-up topic in the last month.) We've got new citizens that I'm already finding myself proud of. Angrr might keep up with this, but otherwise I'll make it a duty of the government.
Akki:
I believe there may be one or two recruitment drive to get our words out in the word. I will most likely have myself, or vice presidents write a recruitment message (like angrr’s) to spread it to the world. I do not think we should do more than twice at max, since it will look spammy, and may deride the immigrants from coming.
13. Any comment regarding the result of two last minimum wage proposal? And personally do you think it's wise or not to propose minimum wage more than 1 JPY?
InfernoSD:
0 Skill workers produce less than 2 JPY of goods, probably less than 1 JPY. So a higher minimum wage is just bad for GMs. After working for three days, new players can resign from their jobs and get one that reflects their new Skill. All that is really needed during that period is Q1 Food, which can be easily afforded.
If it is felt that new players do need more money to survive, it should be provided by an increased citizen fee. This takes the money out of the treasury rather than out of the pockets of the GMs.
Akki:
It was stupid proposal to raise it. I am fiercely against raising any minimum wage, and I had, with its first sight voted NO. I am here for the citizens, but I do not think minimum wage is a smart way to go. Citizens already get paid voluntary enough by most business of Japan even in lower level to support themselves with foods. Under such circumstance, I do not think government should intrude more than necessary into the market.
14. What do you think about the quality of eJapan newspaper lately?
InfernoSD:
The news has been just slightly quieter than usual, but it's fair enough in quality. Whether I win or lose, I hope there will be a Cabinet member to keep releasing articles mainly targeting beginners to read. One particular article to release would be on the process of writing articles, including matters from BBcode tags, formatting/spacing out the article to make it easier to read, and what to write about to interest people.
Akki:
Have some spams, and have some writers, who writes too much article daily. However, I do think there are much quality article within Japan, and to me, it seems quite average.
15. What is your top three favorite eJapan newspaper and what is the reason you like them?
InfernoSD:
Well, it's no secret that Angrr is a friend of mine, but I think everyone can agree he's a skilled writer. Genki News keeps quite positive, unbiased, and informative to the masses.
Voice of a company owner by SuicideOG. Each of his articles has more comments than the last because he's doing a good job of promoting discussion.
I can't decide on a third. whac's wrote a great piece of insight into Japan's government, but he's been out of Japan for long so he hasn't written much else for us. Makoto writes interesting news, keeps me updated on various matters relating to Japan; yet sometimes it becomes too many articles (one a day is a lot in Japan) that are too short. And Origineel writes both informative news and discussive articles, but they've been shorter and further between lately.
Akki:
Genki Time owned by Angrr, in recent have been providing very good quality articles within Japan. I think this is one of most beneficial newspaper to read within Japan.
Ao Arashi, owned by Kogarashi Hazuki also continues to release much excellent quality news, and it is one of most credible news in my opinion. I have not yet seen any low quality article published from it, and I have my faith, that it will continue to only release top quality articles.
Voice of a Company owner owned by Suicide, also is one of my favorite, and recently I have been keeping close eye on it. I am eager to see more articles released from him.
16. Compared with popular international newspaper, what do you think about the quality of eJapan newspaper?
InfernoSD:
Considering our population is as small as it is, it doesn't come as a surprise that we have fewer writers and a lower standard of writing. Sure, the quality isn't the same you can find in some of the big nations, but our media also lends itself to new players. Citizens can easily jump in and get involved as new writers without having to try and compete with more masterly writers. I mean, the simple freedom of our media seems a big part of what makes the Japanese community.
Akki:
It seems like same question as Q14. I think they are average, some good one, some bad one, and some average ones. I give it C+, as in little above average.
I really thanks InfernoSD and Akki for answering this long list of question.
And once again, I really apologize for publishing the interview result after election ended (Again) after both of you take time to give detailed answer.
And thanks to those who still read this until the end even after the election has ended.

Kogarashi Hazuki
Should Be Unbiased Writer This Time

Very thorough interview. Good job. Voted.
Seriously, formatting 7 A4 pages worth of text is overkill even for me.
I need to cut down my question list next month.
Sigh... I'm tired.
Very nice article!
THE TITILE IS IN PURPLE
Yes, I will be putting through another article detailing some Sino-Japanese relation stuff sometime next week.
I hope our two nations can develop a genuine friendship, as I'm sure we will.
@Whac:
So what? :p
---
@Modelcon:
Okay, thanks.
Didn't know it was possible. But it worked. Probably wouldn't have cicked onto this page if it wasn't purple.
One short time in the USA we tried to convince people to use colored titles to indicate what they're about. Something like green is economical, red is about military, etc. That might have been interesting...
@InfernoSD:
Wow, cool.
It could make people easily find article about certain issue even with tons of spam and article that they don't really need to read.
Too bad by putting color in article, the length of the article title became shorter.
You call that short? Hah, I wouldn't mind trying it. I was already going to release the military handbook with a red title.
"Interview with eJapan President Candidate"
Yeah, it is short title.
I originally wanted to type "Interview with eJapan March President Candidate" but it's too long.
Some of your other articles had titles same size, now that I look.
Well, I really think it can work in our media if we try it. It's small enough that we can get it around to the (relatively) few regular writers. Shall we?
Yes, let's try it.
But how to manage the color?
Red = Military
Green = Economy
What about the other?
Great work!
Needs a topic on the forum, I think.
hold on howd you get purple??
@InfernoSD:
Maybe later...

@Ice_Freeze:
It's eJapan national secret.
...Nah, not really.
