Interview Redux

Day 1,106, 05:06 Published in USA USA by Heather Fuchs

This week’s issue is a return to the past of sorts. One of my predecessors as MI Press Officer, Dania, used to have a contest for the interview issues in which she would make up a question and answer, and whoever the first person to guess which one was made up in the comments section received a prize. This week’s prize is a Q5 weapon, so start guessing!

Our interviewee this week is Colonel Dimension, MI Security Officer. He is the former commander of Charlie Company and has held almost every other officer position in the Mobile Infantry short of branch XO and CO (though he promoted GoalieBCSC to Quartermaster when he was Quartermaster General), including private in Bravo 4, PCO of Bravo 7, Charlie Company QM, Quartermaster General, Charlie QM again (ask him if you want, and don’t play with orgs), Charlie Company XO and then CO, and now MI Security Officer. Can you say “MI for life”?

When did you start playing eRepublik?
May 24,2009 (Day 551 of the New World)

How did you find out about eRepublik?
Saw an advertisement one day while I was playing a game on Kongregate.

How did you get involved in the eUS Military?
Oh boy. At the time, the MI was really the first step on the ladder of the military. The TD (now known as the TC) was ... broken. I joined the MI the day I got to 4 strength, and I've been here ever since. (Strength was the gauge for military requirements.)

So was the MI still Division 3 of the National Guard?
Nope. I joined about a week and a half after the split.

What was your favorite V1 moment?
Let’s go with the first battle of California, in WWII

What made that a favorite moment for you?
Well, it was a giant battle. At the time, we set a record for the most damage put up in a single battle. And then in the third battle of California we actually broke the one million damage mark. California was the gateway to America, and at times we got >300 people into #usa-military. The activity level and the atmosphere around the battle was what made it great.

Favorite V2 moment?
When the admin decided it sucked and reverted back to v1.

Admin’s reward for that move

Time for some real life…

How old are you, and where are you from?

I'm 17 years old, and I'm from Oklahoma.

What do you want to do when you grow up?
I want to program something... Preferably something useful, and be paid to do it.

What's the most embarrassing outfit you've ever had to wear?
Haha, if I don't want to wear it, I don't wear it. I haven't ever worn anything embarrassing. I respect my image too much. 😁

So no drama club for you then…
Lol, I am actually in my schools drama club, but only because my ex-girlfriend is the President.

Favorite holiday?
Christmas. Free Gifts and a three week break from school. o/

Here’s an easy one: cake or pie? And which kind?
Cake. Wedding cake.

Yours or someone else’s?
Lol, I bet mine will taste better than all the others.

Back to the game…

What was your favorite military campaign?

I’d have to say the Three Pillars Campaign, because the last pillar (Liaoning) really signified the end of Phoenix dominance over Asia and led to the eventual wiping of Russia. That was a big military moment.

Okay, who was your favorite officer, either to serve under or to serve with, and why?
Hands down, this one goes to therose. She is, by far, the best person to have ever touched this game, and especially this branch. We were both promoted to PCO's on the same day, and we pretty much stuck together until she left. We both made a promise during our training that we would never leave the MI. Anyway, she was a great moral compass, and an even better friend.

What's your opinion of IRC in terms of importance to this game?
Well, you can't expect to do anything if you can't use IRC. I think that makes it fairly important.

Okay, last question lest this become another walloftext article: What would you say to someone who was thinking of joining the MI?
What are you waiting for? Sign up so I can look at your friends/donations list and shout box. 😁

Thank you Dim for your time.

It’s a rose. The rose, even.

That's all for this week, folks.

Remember, if you can do 45 damage (influence) barehanded, or you have at least 200 Strength and a battlefield rank of at least Lieutenant (and you can pass Dim’s screening tests), you too could be a member of the Mobile Infantry!!!

If not, then get your military career started in the Training Corps!

Don’t forget to put in your guess about which question and answer are fake in the comments section, people!
