In Their Own Words, Meet the UIP Candidates (Part Two)

Day 582, 07:34 Published in USA USA by Chris Stanwick
New Mexico - Seth Ford (incumbent)
Backgroun😛 Hello, my name is Seth Ford, and I wish to represent the great state of New Mexico once again for the June, 2009 term. I have spent the past term learning the workings of Congress as a first-term senator, and I would like the opportunity to use the connections I have made during this past term to better represent you and this nation. As for my qualifications, I have recently been given the command of the 1st Platoon of Charlie Company in the Home Guard. I am an active member of the UIP Recruitment Team. For the past month, I have served on the Government Oversight Committee where I have helped to spearhead a drive to keep legislative and executive branches separate. I have also kept my campaign promise to refrain from offering any lulz proposals.

Goals: I will continue to work for greater transparency in government, and I will endeavor to maintain Congress’s prerogatives. It is also my personal mission to be one of the avenues through which new players can learn the ins and outs of this game. When Ananias and Talia finalize the details of a national primary system, I will be deeply involved in the debate over its implementation. As always, I promise to provide you with weekly voter reports. I renew my promise not to offer any lulz proposals for the next term, and I will maintain my practice of seeking public input through my paper, the Town Crier, concerning controversial votes in Congress.

Oklahoma - robertsmiller
Backgroun😛 I've been in Congress before, owned businesses in all industries, worked with other Congressmen on their elections, and want to repeat my first qualification.

Goals: All of us support war games, change, lower taxes, a strong America, etc etc. Everyone is going to listen to the people in their states, I don't need that empty campaign bull. The number one issue right now is, I believe, a movement within the government to slash all import taxes. This will destroy American business if its done the way they're pushing for. We need to stop this.

Backgroun😛 Ssomo told me about his intents to move on, fighting back protests from me and others to say he will not run. Ssomo told me that I should take his place in Oregon, and with his help I have gotten the nomination of the UIP, the party of both Ssomo and I. Today, I announce that CaptainCAPS will open up his run for Congressman of Oregon. I have worked very closely with Ssomo over the months he has served as congressman, and have utmost admiration for the hard work he has done over those same months. I remember when I first encountered Ssomo, running against him as we both sought to capture the vacancy filled by Michael Lewis in Congress. We both ran one of the most respectable and classy campaigns against each other that anyone could find anywhere, but it soon became clear just who I was running against. On election day, The National Siren announced that CaptainCAPS has dropped out of the running to endorse Ssomo. And never have I regretted that endorsement.

Opening up my campaign, I will pull a page out of Ssomos original political playbook, and over the next few days, I will publish my stances on Politics, Military, Economics, and Foriegn Policy. I hope to hear from citizens of Oregon soon, to answer their questions, and address what they need addressed. Ssomo left behind giant's boots to fill, but I believe I am up for the job.

South Dakota - Robert Bayer
Backgroun😛 In Jamarcus’ last election as a candidate of the Green Party, he selected me to be his vice-presidential candidate. Unfortunately, our ticket was eventually bounced off of the ballot by larger parties, but the experience in campaigning and my continuing relationship with Jamarcus and other members of our government has kept me informed of the on-goings-on in the halls of Congress as well as the most important issues of the day.

Furthermore, I have served as a member of the government as a senator from the great state of North Dakota. While in office, I led the fight against the Value-Added Tax on food – a tax which disproportionately affected the poorest ecitizens, harmed our economy, and drove down consumption. Even before that, I was an active member of eAmerican civil society, participating in the forums, producing newspaper articles, and being a productive worker.

Goals: I intend to continue to fight for and maintain low value-added tax rates, seek out and strengthen alliances with other powerful and friendly nations, and remain forward-thinking in order to always be prepared for what PEACE might do next. We must also establish nationalized industry. In the so-called 'free market' that exists today in eAmerica, we cannot produce enough weapons to fight a real war for any longer than a few days. This is not a new problem, and we've lost more than our share of wars as a result of it. An additional problem that we frequently face is a shortage of q1 employment opportunities. That, combined with the fact that many patriotic employers must frequently provide such jobs at a cost to themselves (frequently leading to failed businesses), has led to an economy that is weaker than it could be, and an eAmerican population that is poorer than it should be.

Backgroun😛 Hey my name is Perrin and I am running for Congress in Texas. I've been playing for several months now. I'm an officer in the National Guard Training Division, and I am a member of the Air Force. I write for the paper Novus Ordo Seclorum.

Goals: Texas needs an experience leader and I am the only experienced choice that Texas has running this time around. I urge voters to look at all the platforms and choose who they think will best represent them and not just vote along party lines. I've been participating in tax debates on the forums lately and would love to get into Congress to have access to more data so I can better moderate debates and find compromises for our tax system. I see taxes as the biggest issue for this month's Congress and will work tirelessly to help all sides work toward an acceptable goal. I urge Texans to vote for the experienced, hard working, responsible choice. Vote Perrin.

Utah - ScottCoyle

Vermont - Enzo_Capizzi

Backgroun😛 I am three-term Congressman. I am chair the budget committee in Congress. I was recently promoted to Lieutenant General (the #2 slot) in the US Home Guard. I am a former member of the Economic Council and a former ambassador to Greece.

Goals: My prior accomplishments speak for themselves: non-corruption, public disclosure, orderly budget process, etc. I intend to continue pursuing rational economic policies, promote two-way trade and diplomatic outreach, and keep our military strong. Unilateral 1% import taxes is bad policy, especially when our military relies on 20% income tax from workers and business owners can dodge taxes entirely.

Backgroun😛 I've been aroun😛 former two-term Congressperson, unsuccessful PTO candidate in Hungary, business owner, and current Undersecretary of Fun in the Scrabman administration. If you don't know me, you should... but that's just my opinion.

Goals: I'm a pragmatist. A vote for me is a vote for intelligent debate. With the way our country currently is, I think that would be a very wise vote to make.

Here's a quick breakdown:
TAXES - Fix 'em
SECURITY - Negotiate with 'em, then shoot 'em if they're being stupid
FUN - Have it

West Virginia, you know where it's at.

Wisconsin - Joshua Hoss (incumbent)
Backgroun😛 I was elected by the people of Wisconsin for the April-May and May-June eCongresses, and during my time there I have voted on over 110 in game proposals as well as a number of eCongressional Forum votes. My voting record is open as a web page (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=rhB_4tVIoOMw4BtLmN8UU2g&output=html) for all to view. I also was selected to replace Joeseph Schmo as the Military Committee Chairperson during this eCongress term. This appointment has allowed me to increase the activity of the Military Committee (also known as MilCom) and to get a military budget passed for both terms. It was and is my goal to bring accountability to our nation's military and the funds trusted to it by the public.

Goals: A third term would allow me to continue my work in eCongress. One of the things I would like to work on is taking a look at our taxes and making sure we are receiving the most funds possible without hurting our eCitizens. I would also like to continue on the Military Committee and to better that area of our country.

Wyoming - One Eye
Backgroun😛 I'm a former 3 term Senator from Wyoming. I was one of the architects of our current tax structure and monetary policy. I am the only citizen ever (to my knowledge) to measure the income of the government, and I currently track all of the spending. I am the administrator of the CBO.

Goals: My mission is to leverage the US economy into a strong military. When the US does more damage, all things go better. The business owners make more money because there is more demand for their products. The soldiers get more activity. The diplomats have something to offer our allies. We all get victory.
