Ian E Coleman Re-Election Article

Day 2,145, 01:03 Published in Ireland Ireland by Ian E CoIeman

October 4, 2013

Hello eIreland,

So one month has come to an end, and here I am ready for another. Why? That's a question I'm asking myself too.

Why Am I Running Again?

There are two major reasons for my decision to run once again.

1) The first is the unfinished business which remains from my undertakings last month. Not only do I feel obligated to finish what I started, but the desire, motivation, and excitement remains with me. The thought of leaving these projects short of completion just doesn't sit right.

Namely, I want to finish our improved new citizens system and continue support of the ongoing recruitment project. There is more that I can and must, and therefore will, do for this project. Though this work has been largely behind the scenes, I won't hesitate to say that the work Raven Anarcho has been doing is brilliant, and my hopes sail high that we will see results.

2) The second reason for my re-candidature is frankly the scarcity of willing candidates for the job. I'm not saying that I'm the only one who would offer to step up to the plate this month - but the fact that we have relatively few options makes it somewhat a matter of duty. Certainly, being CP doesn't have the effect of making a person any more popular. Paradoxically, in a round about way it even decreases a persons personal freedoms and power, as they are bound by the scrutiny of those they serve. Truly, I've enjoyed my time as Taoiseach so far - it can often be fun work. On the other hand, I don't think my sanity would weather a third term as successfully as Sweet's did.

What Can You Expect This Term?

More of the same. Generally I believe people know what to expect from me. My methods are designed to be effective, not popular.

- I will continue a conservative and defensive military strategy.
- I will continue my current approach to a highly structured Dáil.
- I will continue my current approach to immigration.
- I will continue to withhold government service from those who abuse volunteers and citizens.
- I will continue regular Taoiseach reports.
- I will continue to encourage high activity from my staff.
- I will continue to work with the Department of Community on trying out new ideas and events.
- I will continue development of a comprehensive new citizens program.
- I will continue active support for Raven's recruitment project.
- I will continue an anti-TWO pro-neutrality foreign affairs regiment.
- I will continue to utilize with discretion the willingness to help of any person, without discrimination.
- I will continue to maintain the highest standards of security with the nation's treasury assets.

Since you've all had the test drive, I think it's fair to say that people know what I'm offering. I carry with me all of the criticism and debate from my last term - and I've kept an open mind and hopefully will be a bit wiser if elected a second term.
