I want to Congress, Too!

Day 2,517, 06:41 Published in USA USA by Franklin Stone

Yep. You heard me, I want to be in Congress. During my absence Congress suddenly became silent, so silent it is deafening; of course that is what some citizens wish for and even have dreams about. In the article 82nd Congress- Leaning on Shovels for 'Merica Deputy Speaker of the House Tenshibo pointed out the Congress Members who had signed in, which was followed by Deputy Speaker of the House Evry's article You Should Congress Too; please notice that the largest most powerful party had only 14% (3 out of 21) elected members who bothered to sign. Congress can not have discussions if those elected do not show up; Congress is a place to hammer other Congress Members over the head with your cane -mine has a Skull on the end and needs to be bloodied; We The People had 100% of our Congress Members sign in. Due to this lack of enthusiasm I will be sponsoring a Law which will allow only those who sign in each week to vote during that week.

One of the things I most miss about eRepublik is the Political Campaigning for states, now the Party President simply chooses their ticket; We The People being the only party that selects theirs through elections.  Therefore, I am announcing my candidacy for the WTP Congressional Ticket, my only promise is I will not remain silent; there are many ideas that could and should be discussed. I wish to be in Congress so that I may poke a stick at the hornets nest and see what we learn, Congress is about discussion; open, honest cane wielding discussion. I will bring my loyalty to America and the beliefs of the Order of the Black Shamrock, Easy Company and Deism to Congress.

Henry Pfeiffer Arundel, ex-President of America, has also been a Congress Member in Pakistan, the United Kingdom and America. In each of these countries he held appointed positions in both foreign affairs and defense. One of the many statements he has made includes, 'Please list these 'many ideas' which 'could and should be discussed.'

So. Just off the top of my head, privatizing the USAF and the creation of a Military Training Academy using USAF's budget line to support it. However instead I will be supporting the American University receiving USAF's budget, with that funding and by combining such programs as the Bank Up 2 Strengthen Up program with the University; new citizens will be able to upgrade their training facilities quickly before joining the Military Unit of their choice. Although my stance on creating a MTA has changed just slightly, I am convinced that the only way to a strong 'American Army' is through privatization; Easy Company being the prime example of delivering the most damage to the battlefield. Weaning the USAF off the Government teat has been a pet peeve of mine, but to be fair here are my responses to his other statements; it also allows me to praise two other great Americans.

'Money isn't an issue for them, as they've been able to cut down spending to match donations of cash and/or company use.'

Now I have immense respect for DMJohnston, who took command of the United States Armed Forces and worked wonders bring their expenditures under control; he then went on to be President. Also Rainy Sunday has done a supreme job in command of that unit, however, if USAF's  'private donations' equal what the taxpayers are donating; surely that unit can stand on it's own. So maybe it is time to use that funding elsewhere; like a Budget Line for the American University to which any 'American' may apply. Most Private Military Units along with the USAF already employ such a Training Academy and it has work quite well; an Academy to teach politics, history and media to new citizens can only improve America.

'The US has always needed a government run MU, as we have had a history of unit leaders doing whatever they like in recent years, regardless of the position of the country as a whole.'

Personally I see the Military as a check against the Executive getting America involved in useless wars such as the 'Invasion of Canada', a war that drove a wedge between America and our Brothers in Canada -a Brotherhood almost as old as this game; all because someone was buthurt. With this statement you seem to be claiming that PMUs such as Easy Company, eUS Military, SHIELD and Seal Team 6 can not be trusted.  If half of the USAF's funding comes from private donations they are essentially a PMU, which according to you can not be trusted and they do as the like; which makes the 125,000 CC budget line seem like a bribe for their loyalty. I can not speak for the rest of those units, but I do know Easy Company always fights for American interest; while not taking part in personal vendettas against our Brothers, butt hurt has no place in Foreign Affairs. My hope is that a strong 'American Army' will not allow that to happen with our Brothers in Russia, that it will bring America back to the side of our Brothers in Canada; that a strong army will not allow a vindictive Executive Branch from destroying American Foreign Policy.
