Beards of Glory

My last article was never posted so I'm a little pissed :[ I'll just keep this brief because I know how you people don't like to read long, intellectual, and informative articles.

This article is mildly serious, so please, bare with me. I plan to be as blunt as possible.

Qualifications:
I've been playing erepublik for a few months now, I think I've gotten a good grasp of the game and its history. I've learned what countries I do like and which ones I don't like. This is my first attempt at running for a political position and I'm hoping it goes well. I think I'm a competent person to be a Swiss congressman and I think I'll do a good job in office.

The Economy:
I'm not going to lie and bullshit my way through this section like so many other congressmen writing these presentations have. I am no economic genius and I don't pretend to be. All I know is that the Swiss CHF needs to increase in strength and value, whatever makes Switzerland stronger and the people better off is good with me.

Foreign Policy:
•EDEN
I am no fan of EDEN and never have been, but if Switzerland is to benefit off of joining the alliance then I'm fine with it. Even if it means we must ally ourselves with PIG-DISGUSTING USA!

•Close Relations
Although I am fine with Switzerland's decision to join EDEN, what I find much more important is that we retain close relations with our neighbors. I think it would be interesting to see a strong Western European alliance one day.

•Russia
From what I've gathered, it seems like many Shaolins would prefer we maintained a closer alliance with Russia than the USA, as much as I love Russia, I don't think they have any interest in Switzerland, nor do we them.

Military:
We are a small country and a well structured military really isn't necessary at the moment. The fact of the matter is that we do have a military, unfortunately when I look to the news I don't see daily DoD orders. This is a problem. DoD orders should be published every single day for the rest of the country to see. Other than that the military is pretty cool.

Domestic Politics:
The main problem concerning Swiss politics is the potential PTO by the Shaolins. If the Shaolins really are a PTO group like many Swiss have claimed, then it is already to late. As soon as one Shaolin is elected in to congress, and there will be more, the doors are open to as many of their people as they want to. All we can do at this point is hope the Shaolins are a legitimate group that truly wishes to help Switzerland and not use it for its own profit. I don't think the Shaolins are a PTO group, but it is a very unnerving issue. We'll just have to see how it all turns out tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone.
