Hungary and Asteria after the Battle of Budapest - my personal view

Disclaimer -- I'm not a goverment member in any form, so it is fully my personal opinion and view --

A few weeks ago, Hungary approved an MPP with Poland. According to the government communication (during the previous presidential mandate), it was planned and coordinated with Serbia. According to personal communication with some Serbian friends of mine, it was not. However, the MPP was signed but it meant nothing in the battlefields: Hungary remained in Asteria coordination system, our daily orders, MU orders were set for the interest of this alliance. This time Hungary held Ukraine, Austria, part of Slovakia and Northern Italy.

Right after this event, the regular Ukrainian RWs turned to be severe; in many of them, Romanian (Asteria) MU's money was offered for the Ukrainian (Asteria's enemy) side. It seemed as a coordinated move with Bulgarian (Asteria's enemy) authorities, as they make peace and as a result of the successful liberation of the Ukrainian regions, the most valuable regions are under Romanian and Bulgarian occupation, even at the moment I write this article. I must say, a similar Romanian-Bulgarian action was supposed to be launched when Hungary left officially Asteria as a member, several months ago.

This was followed by the NE exchange between Hungary and Ukraine. As the Hungarian CP was not a real flashhand in the F5 fight, Ukraine got the initiative by a few seconds. The first battle was against a Hungarian core region NGP (won by Ukraine), and the second was against the Hungarian capital itself (won also by Ukraine, after heavy tanking, COing). Then the support of Ukraine vanished, Hungary won the following battle, RW'd back the cores and conquered 3 Western Ukrainian regions.

In the Ukrainian RWs, and even in the battle of Budapest I've seen a heavy tanking from Croatia (normal, they are in the other alliance), Turkey (the same), Greek terrorist (as usual). Together with them, there were considerable amount of Romanian (Asteria), Argentinian (Asteria) and even Greek (Asteria) damage against us. It was the time, when the Sirius/Aurora assault on China (Asteria) was at the vital point. A considerable part of the alliance we are cooperating considered more important to hit against us than to defend the cores and existence of a founding member.

After all of these, Argentina refused to sign the MPP with us. Perhaps because of our Polish relations (note that they do cooperate with Chile in South America...) or because of our non-settled relations with Romania (who accomplished an indirect aggression against us, cooperating with a common enemy Bulgaria to get bonuses from us).

What can be done now?

Logically, I see four ways to go.

1. Integrate Hungary to Asteria fully
2. Remaining in tactical cooperation with Asteria
3. Join the Sirius
4. Remain neutral

Personally for me, Nr 3. (Sirius) is not an option, I'm fully for SerHun, beyond any question. Remaining neutral means to hold the core regions only in long term, a honest but less productive way. Both versions 1 and 2 expects an agreement between Asteria and Hungary. What could be the conditions of them?

There are two basic condition sets: the 'status quo ante' and 'accepting the present status quo'.

Status quo ante means to return to the situation before the Polish MPP. Hungary lets this MPP run out, does not renew, and gets back Ukraine from Romania and conquer the regions from Bulgaria with the support of Asteria.

Accepting the present status quo means Hungary accepts the Romanian gains in Ukraine, Asteria organizes to conquer the Bulgarian Ukraine for Hungary, and accepts the Hungarian-Polish MPP.

The 'status quo ante' option points more or less to the full Asteria-integration, with a Romanian MPP and so on. It should be seen that it is strongly opposed in Hungary now, as the trust for Romania has fallen a lot during the past weeks - and strongly opposed also in Romania as it would mean to loss of the Ukrainian gains.

The 'present status quo' means to continue this crazy undecided situation: Hungary is pro-Asteria but would not enter because her arch-enemy, Romania.

These thoughts are quite common in Hungary in these days. We hate this extended undecided period, we want to continue the alliance with Serbia and cannot accept the alliance with Romania (me, personally would have accepting a Romanian MPP a few weeks ago but now, after their cooperation with Bulgaria against us, I'd reject it, too). This is a continuous race of love and hate: love to Serbia, hate to Romania, while they seems to be good allies. The outcome is unpredictable at this point.

And in these days, it would be important to have an official word from Asteria about this whole mess. What is the opinion of the alliance the way, Hungary was thrown out from Ukraine by a cooperation of an Asteria member and an Asteria enemy? What is the opinion of the Asteria about to the wiping of the founding member China, because of many troops were hitting against Hungary instead of defending China - apart from 'we're sorry, China'? At least, an ordinary Hungarian player would see at least a word about Hungary in the official communication of Asteria - which is still missing.

I repeat to my Serbian friends: having Hungary and Romania in the same alliance needs continuous and pro-active problem handling. Ask the RL Germans, they did it in the WWII 🙂
