HR4America: The Vice President, a platform, and a kitty conquered [EDIT]

Day 891, 17:06 Published in USA USA by Harrison Richardson
EDIT:

This article was designed to announce NXNW as my Vice President. However, due to various personal and professional reasons, NXNW has had to step down from the ticket. I am saddened by this but realize and respect the needs of his position as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

To avoid even the appearance of impropriety, NXNW and I talked over the issue and decided it would be best if he stepped back. He is going to maintain a central role in the administration in a National Security Advising role. Our intent when we teamed up was due to the fact that we shared a common goal for how we want to see this country go forward and that we had a common vision in our foreign policy objectives. I value NXNW's advice. By the same token, I recognize the concerns over the military and politics mixing.

By having NXNW step back in to an advising role and not an elected role, it will ease these concerns on the military/executive separation and, at the same time, allow for NXNW and I to collaborate on a daily basis to continue to help move the US forward.

We never had the intent of politicizing the military. That was not it at all. I merely chose the best available Vice President, regardless of any affiliation of any kind. In some respects, that is what we should always aim for. By another token, I recognize that NXNW's current position doesn't allow this.

I was a bit idealistic in my approach in selecting a Vice President and that is my fault. However, the mistake has been rectified and I will have a full statement tomorrow. I will still have a Vice President and this one is no less a superstar than NXNW.

Greetings, Americans.

I was planning on beginning with some cool catch phrase today that a lot of former Presidents used in their campaigns.. "Hoss for Boss", etc, but I'm just too happy to skip over this next piece of information. In case you didn't know, yesterday allied forces managed to agree on a plan and ninja tank Heilongjiang, the Hungarian fortress affectionately named "Hello Kitty". Spain, Poland, Romania, Croatia, and the rest of EDEN combined with the United States to push the wall from hundreds of thousands in the positives to over one million in the negatives within less than two hours. It caught Hungary by surprise. It caught me by surprise. I wasn't expecting such a massive collaboration by allied forces but boy was I impressed. This was a perfect example of how an independent United States can coordinate with EDEN and the two entities can still be wildly successful. I applaud EDEN's high command and President Woxan as well as Chairman NXNW for their hastily prepared strike on HK. Weeks of tensions have been somewhat alleviated by the sight of EDEN and the US working together. It must be noted, however, that one battle does not a relationship make. This is what we can do when we work together. I am happy to collaborate with EDEN for as long as they continue to make and engage in successful operations; the point at which I wish to step back is when those goals become those of one nation rather than the brotherhood as a whole. With a bit of humility and tact from both sides involved, we may never have to realize that woeful fear that many Americans had and we can build on this positive outcome and repair relations with some of our EDEN brothers.

However, the issue that has been flooding my inbox the past few days is my Vice President. I promised that I had a superstar Vice President picked and that I planned to announce today. This Vice President was picked, above all else, his strengths that compliment mine. We have a very similar view on foreign policy, and we had a productive talk on it a few nights ago. We both view the military as the primary tool of retention for our country. He fills gaps in my knowledge and I hope I fill some in his. Together, I hope that we present the most promising ticket for the continued advancement of the United States.

I am proud to introduce the former Army Chief of Staff,

the retired General of the United States Army,

the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,

and man with the same vision that I have for America

Your next Vice President, NXNW

I am sure some will question just how I intend for a sitting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to be my Vice President. It's actually quite simple. Relations between the military and the executive are, at times, tense. These two branches of government most often work in tandem and must be synchronized to effectively run the country. The military cannot function without the President and the President cannot function without the military. As Vice President is a user created position, the Chiefs saw no reason why NXNW could not serve both seats concurrently. The Vice President in this game serves as little more than a glorified adviser; I want to change that. By choosing NXNW, I am placing trust in the Chairman as my number two man in the government and as my principal military adviser. An added plus is this gives NXNW, as Vice President, complete authority to act on all military matters when I am gone. I trust NXNW and know he will make a great Vice President just as he currently makes a great Chairman.

Further, I have a few positions to announce within the campaign:

General Chairman, Harrison for America: Inwegen
Campaign Manager: St Krems
Outreach Organizer: Serendipitous

Finally, I present to you my platform. I had spent many days thinking about what to place in my platform, but when I sat down to write it, I found that it was rather easy. I am passionate about all of the issues I talked about in my platform. I placed them in such an important document not only because they need to be said but because they aren't being said. I believe I have produced a document that explains my beliefs and how I will act in office to the best of my ability. I believe that I have accomplished this without pandering to any groups and producing a document that is authentic of my actual beliefs and not tested political phrases to score points. I trust America to make the right decision.
