Hope Grows

"Hope is a waking dream" -Aristotle

HOPE was a dream made a reality in eRep by Lavis Knight. He conceived of growing the strength and power of the silent masses, the so-called "two-clickers". For too long, their abilities and interest were undervalued by the self-proclaimed "active" population.

What was this "active" label though? Merely a participation in outside forms of communication and community, such as IRC and forums. However, that accounted for less than a third of our population.

There were military organizations for the active, like CAF and TCO, but nowhere was welcoming to those who preferred to stay within the confines of the game. Started firstly from self-funding, helped along by donations of charity, thankfully the political landscape would change. Where once military funding was reserved merely for the CAF, those in power began to gradually change their perception on who and what could be valuable to Canada's military future.

In today's eCanada, ALL militaries have a right to apply for public funding, and most do. It is that era we are in today. Having taken over for Lavis, Jorge Salazar and Jacobi have headed HOPE and HOPE II respectively. They continue Lavis' fine work, in the new funded environment, and ensure that military advancement is available to all.

It is therefore with great honour that I would like to announce that I have been asked to head HOPE's newest installment, HOPE III.

Vandorian, the former leader of the Military Action Force, has decided that he is no longer able to run a MU and therefore has graciously donated the MAF to me to be used as HOPE III. HOPE is continuing to expand, and who knows how many MUs we'll be able to fill?

As some of you might know, I'm a large proponent of transparency and accountability. Therefore I'd like to share my tracking spreadsheet with you. I will record all government amounts received and spent, as well as keep track of the amount of supplies purchased, and at what price. If you have any suggestions on changes to the information tracked, please let me know.

Thanks,
Cham
