Honestly, I’m Down Like The Economy

2 Day 635, 11:02 USA
And so there will peace.

I guess many have heard the announcement of the non-aggression pact that essentially ends the war for the United States. The immediate reactions—often either supporting the decision or deriding it—seem to litter the media now. I guess I’ll add my perspective.

I don’t know. It could be the right decision or not and only time will really tell. The instant pronouncements humor me because most people willing to shout their opinions don’t really know what’s going on behind the scenes. I’m inclined to believe that Emerick and his administration have worked hard to secure the best terms for our country. His explanations are sound and reasonable from where I sit. Additionally, those deriding this decision are often doing it for personal gain, which, in turn, doesn’t sit well with me.

With that being said, it’s hard to sit here and be happy about a country that is a shadow of its former self. We have less citizens, territories, companies, and economic prowess. PEACE came around and knocked us down. We’ll have to get back up. I won’t make any promises where this country is in four months because that’s a long way off.

I stole the article’s title from Weezy and altered the context from a girl to my country. It’s a little depressing today no doubt. We can sulk around or turn it. We’ve got time now to transform ourselves. Are we going to be geeks or gangstas? Are we going to be Dwayne Wayne or Lil’ Wayne?

Hint: There isn’t a wrong answer but Weezy gets ladies.

Withdrawing the focus of the article from my innocuous attempts at pop culture references, it’s important, at least for myself, to capture the way I feel from time to time in writing. Today wasn’t a good day and I’m down. My country is down.

Our country is down. And knowing that, it’s easy to display the worst aspects of our personalities when we lose something we hold dear. Yet with all that being said, the sky isn’t falling down. It’s important for some us to remember this.

My initial reaction was this was a terrible idea. But now that I've had time to think about it, it gives our country a few interesting options going forward. The important thing is that there are no permanent repercussions - after 4 months we have no obligations.

This is not an end, this is a beginning to rebuild eUSA. AND, PEACE and us have unfinished business.
