Has eAus GONE MAD?!

Hi all

On holiday as I currently am, I only occasionally get to log on.

However, when I have the rare opportunity to be online, I have been somewhat amazed to see what has been going on during my absence. Money was stolen, fingers pointed all around. A good guy has some really crap stuff happen (really crap), decides to pass over the reigns of control - and some people are nothing but derisive.

Individuals usurping democratic rights of the people by making unilateral decisions (or trying to fan the flames of hate) on either side of the debate - pretty much assuring the only outcome will be that we will lose everything we have gained since independence purely over a nationalistic (almost "one nation" like) campaign to incite hate and violence.

Fights and flaming back in the media (not that I mind this TOO much, it was boring without an Icey and/or Australian Warlord to polarise our nation). But remember how this looks to the new player starting out - why would they want to stay??

Anyone get a sense eAus may be being used?

I'll admit - I haven't been here to see the detail. But, from an "outsider" perspective, it looks like eAus has been slowly disintegrating this month.

Why???????

We are more than 1200 Gold. Yes it sucks, but come on - that doesn't destroy EVERYTHING WE HAVE BUILT!

We are more than a bunch of sheep that one (or a few) can manipulate purely to their own agenda (be it whether we wear EDEN, FORTIS, or PEACE jersey's to the next footy match).

We are a community - this is a social networking game, but it is also a group of friends - people who have come from all over the RL world to participate in eRepublik, and in this instance, in our little corner of it.

So, stop bickering under the table. Get the ability to have a referendum sorted and have it - if we as a nation want to fight PEACE or join it, then declare your interests.

But to those individuals that think they have all the power, stop trying to manipulate this fine nation to your own ends (which will in turn destroy it).

(I'm back on the road to Calgary now - so won't get a chance to see the flames from this article - so make them good one's ok??).

Oh, you know how we Australians are all a little mad. Some show it more than others. Need I remind you of Australian Warlord? What amuses me most is that some people who would have shouted him down, are advocating a course of action he would have been all for. It makes me mourn the loss of Australian Warlord. In his insane way, he kept us all grounded.

I love eAustralia. It isn't the economic powerhouse, the military steamroller or the political sniper rifle of the eWorld, but it is the cultural display. Which other small nation can say that they are as well liked by all nations? As famous (and Infamous) as the biggest and best with our relatively small population!

As crazy as things get, we have the ground work for awsome potential. I'm not worried about the outcome of past or recent events, because I know once we find our 'balance', we will go from walk to stride to leap.
