Happy Thanksgiving! (Free Food)

Day 2,519, 12:59 Published in Norway Denmark by Joshua Morriseau

Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! As a RL Canadian I thought it would be nice to share a Canadian holiday with all of you. I thought it would be nice to share since from my understanding, it is only a Canadian/American celebrated holiday. Canada's Thanksgiving is always held on the second Monday of every October where as the USA celebrates theirs on the fourth Thursday of every November. As well why Canada celebrates earlier than the USA is because if we waited to celebrate in November, there would be snow everywhere. But since Im Canadian I will share ours instead 🙂

The first Thanksgiving in Canada and I believe all of North America was held in 1578 when the explorer Martin Frobisher came from England in search of the prized North West Passage. It was his third voyage in Frobisher Bay which is in the current territory of Nunavut. He had intended to start a permanent settlement but had nothing but troubles. Storms had scattered his fleet and ice storms had destroyed ships. Canada's north was just not liveable to Europeans of that time. After all was said and done they celebrated a day of Thanks to God for being alive in such a dangerous place. "They celebrated Communion and "The celebration of divine mystery was the first sign, scale, and confirmation of Christ's name, death and passion ever known in all these quarters."

The next account of Thanksgiving in Canada was in 1604 by French settlers in Canada with explore Samuel de Champlain holding huge feats of thanks. They even formed the "Order of Good Cheer," and shared food with their First Nations neighbours.

Today Thanksgiving is a holiday meant to celebrate the harvest and blessings of the past year. Its a time to be thankful for everything you have had over the past year, good health, family and friends. Many play or watch American football, and then sit down to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner which usually consists of food like Turkey with cranberry sauce, ham, potatoes, yams, corn, beans, squash, dressing or stuffing, gravy, breads, pastries and of course pumpkin pie!

I cannot wait to start feasting tonight! But of course I wanted to share a little bit of my bounty with all of you. So just comment down below what you are thankful for, share this article and I will send you some food so you can have your own feast! Unfortunately it will not be a lot, as Ive been helping out some younger players lately since KB's program has stopped but it will still be something! I will start. I am thankful that my career is finally starting to take off and that my family has been there to help support me through all of it. Also I am thankful for all the friends I have made in eRepublik and for their support who have helped me run for CP in the past year, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

As always, don't forget to V,S&S!
