Greeling's AMP Story

Day 3,067, 22:44 Published in USA USA by greeling

Hello America,

So I meant to write this article months ago, really it was going to be a post on the AMP board but my access was removed before I could do it. I remember back after the JCS split happened and AMP wasn’t in the top 5 yet still a couple days away from breaking through. I was a new player didn’t really know much, SVV talked to me multiple times to convince me to join AMP and since I had seen so many other people do it I decided to try it out, peer pressure is a good way to get me to do anything. I wasn’t really active in the party other than a couple runs for congress and made it in once or twice but never really posted ever. Then one day I decided I wanted to get involved in the party and be part of leadership, I started posting all the time on the AMP forums and talking all the time in IRC. I ended up messaging Kijiman asking to be his Deputy CoS. I got the job and it turned out to be the easiest job possible, I didn’t have to do anything and just sat around and looked the leaderboard section on the forums, best post I can remember is IS saying “someone give that greeling guy a job”.

Then the worst thing ever happened, Kijiman disappeared. All of a sudden I had to do work, I was running all of the party’s elections which I know really isn’t that hard but when you are new that’s a huge step. I did that for a couple weeks until I the guy I like the most in this game (sorry Aramec) John Killah became the new Chief of Staff, day he got promoted I remember my post being “hey guys did you know that John Killah is super sexy” I had to compliment him I think it was part of my job. It wasn’t long after that I messaged JK telling him I was leaving going off to join the Revs which I could go into detail but thats another story.

After two clicking for a long time I finally returned back in January of 2014, messaged Napalm Norm asking to get involved in the party and was quickly put into Comms, or mass message person. I got to work and was quickly getting heavily involved. I went from running comms, to starting the AMP tank and Food Program, getting Deputies for people, running retention. I almost had a part in every department in AMP, except PAC because Evry wouldn’t share power with me. I was going to run for PP in March but Gnilraps had plans for me that month so I decided to just keep helping in the party and let others run it while I was busy being the best VP of all time.

Then after my time of being VP I ran for PP and since I had been doing most things and really was a major part in leadership it was not an easy win, SVV ran against me and I had to work to get win the primary. I had to message the party asking to vote for me, write articles, oh this sounds like how things use to be done nevermind you old people are going to complain.

I finally did it I was PP of AMP, I was ready to do the job and I wanted to be one of the best at the job ever. I messaged most of the former PPs that had access and many of the honorary round table asking for input and wanting any support they can give. I wish it would have gone the way I wanted it to, congress elections came quick and I wanted to try to have a great outing for it. My CoS David Wilson released an article that in Hindsight made us look bad and I think was something that killed our votes. That election was the lowest percentage AMP ever had in voter turnout. Then came the CP elections and John Largo was running for CP, easy victory in AMP for him. Well it should have been but a few of us in leadership didn’t agree with his ideas and actively worked against him in the primary and ended up giving Molly the AMP nom. So after that month I ended up being the PP with the worst congress results and worked to keep an AMP member from getting our nom for CP. I blame no one for these results other than me, I was the one in charge and I had the control of all of these things.

So after that month I didn’t run again and took a backseat helping with the retention department but not much else. I ran the Food and Tank Program which I was really lazy with, Franklin will tell you all about how waiting for his free supplies was horrible. I ended up taking a slight break from eRep just two clicking around for a while.

I started being more active again and finally decided to get back into leadership and decided to run for PP again and give it one more try. I ended up losing to some guy that was in the AMP for less than a month. Talk about humiliating, I should have quit there I really should have. But at least we had the AMP PP debate that was fun, and we all learned how big Aramec’s penis is.

So a few months after that I decided to give that AMP PP thing a chance again and run for it. Then the exact same people ran again that darn Senryaku and Yui just can’t let me have things. This time I was the winner even though I barely did anything to try to win this time. It’s amazing how things change.

The job I had to do was get us into the top 5 that month for congress. I messaged Trump2016 and Dinny looking for help, I messaged Custer trying to get his partys support. I must have messaged over a 100 people in this game trying to get some help. I emailed for AMP players hoping it would get them to come online and get in the party, I texted the people that I had numbers for asking them to sign in just to join the party. I worked so hard to try to get as many people to move to the AMP and give us any help. We had gained the ground and had a chance of taking the 5th spot. I had to be up at 5 on the 25th so I went to bed on the 24th setting an alarm for 1:30 to communicate with people telling them to move around. We took the lead 5 minutes before reset 141-135, enough to feel safe. Then I watched SFP go down by two and BSP go up to 137 little worried but we might be ok. Then I watched my numbers go down right at a minute before reset. Then I saw the results at reset BSP with 139 and AMP with 139, we lost, I lost. It was a tie which goes to them since they had an older party. All that work and planning was for nothing. All these programs I had planned to start to keep us in the top 5 meant nothing anymore. I had failed my party and just felt like I couldn’t do anything to redeem myself

My record as AMP PP for congress was lowest voter turnout and the first one to not have us in the top 5 for congress. I just felt like I had failed the party that was my home. I failed all the people that we counting on me.I just couldn’t stay in AMP anymore because all I saw was my failure. So as soon as my term as PP was over I left, I had to leave just because I just didn’t want to think of the party that I loved and how I let it down. AMP is the best community I have been a part of in this game and I hate to see how things went. I wished it could have fixed itself, I wish I could have been the best PP it ever had but in my opinion I might be the worst, oh wait thats still Free Area at least I wasn’t to blame for that.
