Goodbye Small Countries, Hello Power Blocs

Day 717, 17:41 Published in USA USA by Woxan
The Admins have announced some changes.

Last week, the admins announced that the cost of MPPs would rise to 100 gold. I and many others had little qualms with this; it would make war more interesting by making MPPs more strategic and stop some countries from expanding because they well walled in by MPPs. But now, the admins have announced that if an MPP drops, they'll no longer be active in a war. Congrats, the fate of small countries and training wars has been sealed.

No Training Wars

Many smaller countries rely on training wars to remain active, maintain wellness, and get stronger. This change will make it impossible for some small countries to maintain wellness. 100 gold for the MPP each month on top of weekly payments for the battles? This would be unsustainable for most of the countries in the world.

For instance, Lithuania would have to pay 2,900 gold to maintain those MPPs from their side, in addition to the 100 gold from each other country. 5,800 gold each month in MPPs to maintain that TW, and that's not including battle costs.
Big Power Blocs

With this MPP change, the big countries have no reason to ally the smaller ones. The big ones do the damage and will have to stay activated in order to prevent nearby big countries from rolling in. There is no reason for the EDEN powers to MPP outside of the USA, Spain, Croatia, Romania, Poland, and Greece, and the PEACE side has no reason to MPP outside of Hungary, Serbia, Russia, Iran, and Indonesia. Gold will have to be spent to maintain these blocs while smaller countries will be unable to foot the costs.

Death of Small Countries

The big countries now no longer have a reason to MPP these smaller guys. It costs too much gold and costs too much to maintain. They will be swallowed up by the big guys surrounding them. With the simple 100g cost under the old rules, you would still have to be careful before engaging the small country as to activate MPPs, but now there is no need. It would cost too much to keep these guys on your side.

And with a simple decision, two huge power blocs of less than a dozen countries total will emerge, and everyone else will be thrown to the gutter.
