Good News About the Wiki

I would like to make two very special announcements about the wiki.

THE WIKI REACHED 8000 ARTICLES! This momentous occasion happened over the weekend. I would like to that all of the wiki readers, wiki editors, wiki translators, uber editors, and other sysops for making this a reality. We are exponentially growing in content and quality. Thanks a lot!

More importantly, a change that we have all been wanting has finally come to the wiki = better game/wiki integration.

Background
When V1 was released over a year ago, glorious little black books appeared next to citizen pages, regions, parties, etc. to take users to the entity’s wiki page. The problem was when you would click that link, the page it pointed to in the wiki had a prefix. For example, the wiki link next to my citizen name linked to “Citizen Q J Lincoln”. So as a work around, to make pages in the wiki link correctly, and so we wouldn’t have to use silly prefixes for every wiki link, we would create redirects. So to follow our example, I created a redirect on the page “Citizen Q J Lincoln” so that it would automatically open “Q J Lincoln.” This was an extra step in creating content, it filled up the wiki with a lot of little bits of code, and it made a lot of extra work for the sysops.

From Now On
From now on… All wiki links in eRepublik should take you directly to the appropriate page in the wiki. This is true for:
*Citizen names
*Organization names
*Company names
*Party names
*Country names
*Region names

Common Issues:
If you have a page in the wiki and the wiki link doesn’t work, please go directly to the wiki and search for it. If the title of the entity is not the same as the title of the page, it will not work. Send me a message and we can move the page to a new title or create a redirect for this instance.

If your party changes its name… you need to make a new page. If it is something simple like changing an article (The, A) or spelling we can talk about other options.

What will happen with the redirects? The sysops will be deleting these unneeded redirects over the next few days. Don’t be alarmed if you see a lot of red in the Recent Changes page.
