Global gold scandal follow-up: banned for article uncovering gold scheme scandal

15 Day 732, 03:52 Australia
The last 24 hours have been nothing short of a living hell.

I have been banned following an article I wrote for The Ranting Loon, a 24 hour ban. I liken this period to being imprisoned by Admin, I can imagine a bare concrete prison, a tin pot for a toilet (no paper or wet wipe), daily beatings and dare I say, the odd penetration from a perverted drooling admin officer.

My article raised a question that must be raised. Does the new 'Incentive Gold' system, currently in beta trials, threaten to devalue our gold and place economies around the globe?

Citizens in countries currently involved in the trial can complete external incentives - surveys, competitions, one incentive requires the viewer to watch Robbie Williams new music video. In return for completing these incentives, citizen earn gold.

Yes, you read right. Without inputting work or managing a company or buying the gold, a citizen can earn gold, an unlimited amount (limited only by number of active offers).

We cannot buy gold more than once a week (twice if you buy an SMS top up), to avoid "gold inflation", we are told by eRepublik.

So why is gold inflation not a concern for admin? Why are they willing to put our economies at risk, without establishing safeguards such as limiting the number of offers a citizen can complete in one day?

The Ranting Loon emailed Admin requesting information about the incentive offer. I wanted to find out the impact of the incentive system and how much gold has been injected artificially into our economies. My requests were met with smoke and mirrors. There is something here that Admin doesn't want us to know.

(Please not that Admin were aware that I was asking these questions for the purposes of a newspaper interview and therefore their response implies permission to reproduce their responses.)

1) Do you believe the Complete offers and get eRepublik Gold beta system will remove the incentive to be productive?
A: The new system will not affect the will of citizens to contribute to eRepublik, by working, training, etc.

2) What impact on our virtual economies will citizens being able to earn 1 gold (and therefore it's equivalent in local currencies), without contributing anything to the game model (work etc) have?
A: We are still analyzing, this is why the module is in Beta staging.

3) How much gold has been earned by eAustralian citizens through the new scheme?
A: The answer is confidential

Confidential? Why won't Admin tell us how much new gold has been spewed across our economies through this profit-motivated and ill-conceived trial.

As a result of some of the article's content. I was banned. As I said, like a prison sentence, I was unable to work or train. Today I was released from my metaphorical bonds, massaging my beaten muscles and squelching my anal muscles or sphincter in an attempt to reseal my once virgin entry/exit defecation hole.

My body may be beaten. My will is not broken.

I will get to the bottom of the gold incentive scheme. I will continue to lobby for Admin to be transparent with the results of the trial and if negative to our economy, I will lobby for the scheme to be scrapped.

If I am going to be imprisoned for it, then so be it. I will not bend my beliefs.

For eAustralia! For the children! For their mother's bosoms!

"It takes many hours to produce The Ranting Loon. I hope it informs and entertains and if so, I always appreciate you voting the article up. If you would like to receive The Ranting Loon's new articles when they are published, please subscribe. This will also help me achieve my goal of becoming eAustralia's first media mogul, through quality reporting, great entertainment and dare I suggest, more than a little ranting lunacy! Aggggh! Aggggh!

Pointless. You're just stirring things here. The offers gold injected into the markets will recirculate just as bought gold does. If gold suffers a slight drop in value against national currencies because of it then it does so for a limited time till it disperses over the markets and readjusts with taxes, currency prints etc.

I see nothing wrong with it. Just like medal gold. Just like bought gold.

There is no scheme. No conspiracy. No story. Nothing. Just you being an asshole to attract readers. I'm sorry, I sometimes find your articles fun, but this time you misshot. Badly...

Don't sweat it m8. You get used to prison after a bit. Some blokes even come to like structured lifestyle and close companionship of their fellows.

if some one is just going to do the free ones they will not get any more then 20/25 gold anyway. i dont think any one would be dumb enough to give there mobile number or there credit card number for the ones that give more gold

HellCold your assumption is not exactly accurate. The price of gold is proportioned to the demand for gold and e-cash is the media by which the gold get transferred into "real" assets including e-banking for e-interest.

Should there be even slim fluctuation in gold availability through external supply the economies of each country and the world as a whole will be seriously affected.

People's wages will drop, market prices on a wide spectrum will raise. This flux will force other people to seek their free gold externally which in turn will force prices up and wages down.

Generally we call this inflation. National inflation leads to national bankruptcy where productivity does not support demand for products. Printing more cash only exacerbates the motion.

The solution is to stop a free flow of gold and remove a portion of gold from the market. Both will be an anathema to the game administrators.

Therefore they will "imprison" anyone revealing this scam as the article reveals.

Earning Gold with these external offers does feel a lot like cheating to me.

It is not cheating for you even if it may feel that way. Consider it as a badly researched extension to the game. The more people "cheat" this way the sooner the admins will be forced to take an action and stop this malpractice.

Those offers aren't worth the gold anyway. I just did one and it was just page after page of ads & offers. You had to click 'no' a billion times. It kept asking & asking for a cell number (no thanks) and at one point if you hit "submit" you were agreeing to having money charged to your phone bill...sheesh.

Read the requirements carefully. Lots of those offers require you to give them a mobile number (they send a PIN to confirm). I can only imagine the amount of trash that will start showing up on your phone. Easier to just buy the gold with real money than get scammed out of it by those offers.

The one I completed did NOT require you give them a number, just required you to complete the annoying thing. I did. But here 9 hours later, no gold.

Don't waste your time.

Liked your article. I also like the fact that you published this anyway even though you had already been imprisoned if you like. That takes balls. HellCold dont you think that comment was a bit unnecessary? Lots of newspapers are for fun and they are great. I dont believe this newspaper IS for fun though. He is raising an important question. This could affect the global economy. Damn i hate the economy sometimes.........

btw good article

Just another point ~
The offers vary depending on your RL location. So an american citizen will get much more offers than someone in North Africa. This is a complete discrimination against everyone as most US/UK citizens will be able to earn much more than any other country's people.
