One of the conversations I have most often as I mentor various people I come across in this game is about Mobile Voting. It is not intuitive, foreign to what we know in the real USA, and actually feels a little like political patronage, a little like oligarchy with a pinch of plutocracy, and maybe just too much work.

An extremely brief primer on eRepublik elections should clear up your worries. Then I will demand that you mobile vote.

Congressional elections are controlled by the top 5 Political Parties by size. eRep will only permit candidates from one of these 5 to run. Party Presidents get to decide who the "official" candidate is, but anyone above level 12 can run if they join a top 5 party.

In eRep, state residency is an almost useless distinction. Congressmen do not so much represent their state in congress, they represent their party. So the Parties spend the days leading up to elections planning which of their people will run in which states.

Meanwhile a group wanting to seize a congressional seat without going through a top 5 party need only enter a candidate as an unofficial candidate. Of course they have to pretend to be in a top 5 party, so they falsely join the party, as do their supporters, and wait to vote.

This man is NOT an officially endorsed candidate.

It is within game mechanics to do this. But it is dirty pool. Any non-top-5-party citizen who wants to run can always apply with the top 5 parties. This happens routinely and the top 5 routinely throw their support behind what are known as "6th party" candidates. Order is maintained.

To prevent foreign troublemakers from getting into our congress, our government sets up an IRC room: #ATO. In #ATO, concerned citizens are given instructions as to where there vote is needed most to defend the integrity of the congress and prevent foreign political takeovers. Moving tickets are provide to those in need.

Mobile Voting is the process by which you, a loyal eAmerican, spend your vote by moving to the state you are instructed to, and cast your vote for the candidate you are instructed to. It is prudent.

You should contact one of the current Party Presidents (preferably one which speaks your language) and announce your intention to help. To make it easy, just click on one of these links right now and send a PM saying "I want to mobile vote". They will take it from there.

It is a matter of Nationalistic Loyalty for you to cast your vote this way.

It is the opinion of 16 Shells that every vote that is cast without consulting #ATO is a potentially wasted vote. You may have just voted for a candidate who would have won without your vote while elsewhere we are fighting tooth and nail to keep another loyal candidate in a race against an iNDo or worse.

Mobile Voting. Just do it.

tl;dr version: Go Mobile!
