Election fever is in over drive for Canada's top office. While reading platforms is important to make an informed voting decision, I have to confess my favourite part of the platforms are the comments they illicit. That is where the attack dogs and supporters come out. Candidates responses to negative comments are often more telling about their character then their platform. There are also some genuinely laugh out loud comments available for your perusal.

In this article I am not going to endorse a candidate or tell you who should get your vote. I am going to encourage everyone to make up their own mind when voting.

Just like in the real world, people vote for different reasons and in different ways. Sometimes a vote is strategic to prevent a particular candidate from winning, other times it is based on a candidates ideas/platform. Other times we vote for a friend or someone we like. However you decide to choose is up to you. Just don't let anyone else tell you how to choose.

And if someone does tell you how to choose? Smile and nod your head in agreement. When you go into the voting booth they won't be there watching.

And if you can't think of any other reason to vote, it is good for one experience point!
