German Food

Salam Aleykum brothers and sisters from eKSA,
The second article in the German Week is about the typical German cuisine. At first, I want to explain the different meals in Germany. Then, I will present you a traditional German table d'hôte (bilingual). Please enjoy it!
For breakfast (german: Frühstück), you eat normally bread, toast or rolls with jam, nutella, honey, sausage or cheese.
German rolls
Many Germans eat muesli in the morning, a mix of cereals, sometimes also mixed with chocolate or fruits. The typically breakfast-drinks are coffee, tea or milk.

The lunch (Mittagessen) is the most important meal in Germany. Meat or fish is eaten with a supplement like potatoes, rize or noodles and vegetables. Especially in the winter, cabbage like the famous Sauerkraut is very popular.

Sometimes in the afternoon, approximately at 3pm, Germans meet their friends or relatives for Kaffee und Kuchen. You talk to each other while you drink coffee and eat cake like Black Forest Gateau or Donauwelle.

The dinner (Abendbrot) is at 6pm. You don't eat much, only two or three slices of bread with sausage like Ahle Wurscht ("old sausage") or cheese like Kochkäse. You can drink the most popular German drink: beer. Or you drink a German wine or a tea.

There are a lot of different beers in Germany, from the dark bear to the wheat beer. I can really say that Germany, especially Bavaria with its Octoberfest, is the home of the best beer in the world.
