From your Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs

Day 661, 12:45 Published in Ireland Ireland by Irish Foreign Ministry

Evening everyone, hope I find you well.

As I'm sure most are aware, Vyse is currently sick with a flu and in no fit state to act as MoFA, until he is all better I'll be filling in. I'd like to wish Vyse a speedy recovery, even if I am enjoying his stack of Cuban cigars and fine champagne!

So, news from Foreign Affairs up until now. Sagers 2.0 has joined the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs team and will be working alongside me (when I return to that role) for the month. Sagers has been an excellent addition to the team so far and the speedy posting of citizen applications is testament to this. Speaking of citizen applications, the protocol is currently being looked at by the Dáil in the Public Dáil section of the forums with the aim of simplifying it, to speed up and relax requirements. Due to this, and also because of Vyse's absence the applications have been suspended, I apologise to all applicants and indignant congresspeople but I don't have the lists we check applicants off and security goes first.

In other news, the Dáil is discussing the renewal of our MPP with Greece, and it looks like we will not be renewing. This is mainly for two reasons, firstly the fact Greece has joined EDEN and secondly, there haven't been any Turkish attacks in some time. President Patton and I (as did Vyse) agree that there is no need for a renewal, even on compassionate grounds, because with the alliance Greece will receive plenty of support.

Also coming up soon, is the Raleigh Convention. For those that don't know the Raleigh Treaty is a treaty of amicability between the UK and ourselves, I understand they want to expand the Raleigh idea out of ourselves and into the world, hence the convention. I recently confirmed we will be taking part in the convention, and look forward to maintaining close ties with our neighbours.

Finally, the issue of ambassadorships. As yo are no doubt aware we advertised for these positions last term, but to little return, I ask that all applicants apply again, hopefully many more this time. I apologise for the inconvenience, but I don't have access to the old applications, If you wish to apply please send a message to this organisation and the three regions you would prefer (in order of preference) and I'll PM a questionnaire out in a few days.
