etc.

- Each medal will award the player with 5 gold, regardless of their division.
The chart below provides an indication of the profitability of each medal using Q7 weapons at the current price of weapons, food and gold. For the purposes of the calculation we have capped the moving cost at 20 NL per war, and have estimated the use of Q7 weapons at 5 per 25 kills. In addition we have estimated the food use as being 250 Q1’s per 25 kills. We have excluded the impact of the use of bazookas from the profit/loss calculation, although you should collect about 156 bazookas with three kills each when completing all 24 rounds and if these are used efficiently only against full powered Q7 or bazooka wielding opponents the use of Q7 weapons and associated cost can we reduced thereby increasing the profits. We have also excluded any possible additional awards such as the True Patriot medals or weekly/tournament awards that may be achieved in conjunction with the freedom fighter medals. We have also excluded the impact of fighting in a failed resistance war as we believe this can be avoided.
As can be seen on the spreadsheet at current prices you will remain in profit until the last medal, however the 11 th medal is where the maximum profit can be achieved. If the weapons price were to drop below 10 again the profit scenario will obviously change dramatically.
At the ministry of education we are not oblivious to the fact that fighting excessively for freedom fighter medals will affect your XP negatively, so we are not advocating that all new players jump in and fight like mad men or women. We are however recommending that if you want to fight that you consider fighting in these resistance wars where gold rewards can be received, as opposed to fighting in a war where there is no potential financial award. New players can for instance target the first 4 or 5 medals to achieve easy gold rewards that can be used to accelerate the upgrading of their training facilities.
Lastly we would like to provide some hints in respect of achieving freedom fighter medals:
1) Always be on the lookout for resistance wars close to where you are located.
2) Look to move to countries where more than one resistance war is active to try to reduce movement cost.
3) Never do more than the required kills, unless you are fighting a real battle for your country.
4) When requiring 25 or 50 kills always wait till one of the last rounds when the outcome of the battle has been decided. You should be able to do the 25 or 50 kills with the energy at hand without using energy bars.
5) When requiring 75 kills you will need start fighting half way through, to allow yourself time to recover energy before the battle ends. Alternatively you can use energy bars to help you achieve he 75 kills. When committing half way through look for battle where it is obvious the occupier is not actively fighting or has less than 5 points half way through.
6) The potential profits are substantially increased when going for these medals during a tournaments or special events where larger than normal awards are handed out for kills or damage. Stockpile weapons and food until a tournament and then go for a couple of the medals in the week the tournament is active. The current Easter event can provide such an opportunity.
7) The freedom fighter medal is one of the enjoyable recent additions to E-Republic, so make sure you have fun chasing the medals.
With kind regards

Very good article, altho from X/S perspective this medal is not that interesting. It can be calculated that per XP incurred you make around 1 cc or so. This means that its a very XP expensive medal to chase. You point this out correctly, but it cannot be stressed enough. It means that working is around 10-20 times more interesting. The rough guideline from the (currently inactive) Ministry of X/S is that you should earn around over 10 cc for every XP your activity brings.
yeah but a medal gives 5 gold and with 5 gold you progress more towards upgrading training facilities
if i read the chart correctly the total cycle is lossgiving.
Nice article!
With this fighting there is also the prizes that come along like the weekly challenge prizes; level up gold and even mercenary medals.
Downside can be the XP if you care about it. And of course the fact that you are a very ineffective soldier as you are mostly fighting in battles that are already won.
Anyway, great to see a spreadsheet showing that this can even be profitable as long as you watch the Q7 prices and have an eye out for minimum moving costs 😃
Very insightful article!
well that took long, didnt it 😉
