Free Belgium party - manifesto

Day 951, 05:03 Published in Belgium USA by Palodigon

First of all, I would like to thank the people of eBelgium for their votes during the elections and for their trust in us.

We've been working hard for the future of eBelgium as well as the future of our party.
One of the things we've done is written down a summary of what the FB party is all about. This should make things more clear.

Now without furder ado, here it is:

We are a center-libertarian political party that promotes democratic values, integrity, government transparency, public participation, a stable economic environment, and practical solutions to national and international problems. Our doors are open to any eRepublik player with eBelgian citizenship, regardless of real life nationality. Our only requirement is that you are committed to building a better future for our great nation.

One of the things that makes us different than some other parties is that we respect the judgment of the eBelgian voter and strive to put the interests of our country above the interest of our party. To this end we do not provide official voting orders to our party members, but ask all citizens on election day to judge our candidates based on their indivudal merit and potential for successs. We are more interested in the quality of our candidates than the final number of congressional seats our party holds.

Another unique feature of our party is its decentralized structure and leadership style. Although we have a natural concensus on a few braod issues (see below), our party leadership does not enforce a detailed political platform. We emplay a bottom-up, inclusive and cooperation-based model of decision-making rather than a top-down, centralized and elitest model of party planning. Each and every Free Belgium member is respected and encouraged to express and promote his or her own ideas without the fear of being censured by a party whip. In the FB party, every member is a leader.

Below is a list of the braod topics that most FB members agree upon at the moment.

ECONOMICS
* The effective use of state resources (e.g. gifting and training companies) to provide jobs, education and wellness boosts to new citizens who do not yet have the means to obtain it on their own.
* A stable peg and minimum wage system that promotes confidence and long-term investment in the eBelgian economy.
* Aggressive population growth and retention strategies to increase local labor resources (see domestic politics).

FOREIGN AFFAIRS
* Continue as an active member of ENTENTE -- provided it remains a neutral and defensive alliance that respects all of its member states.
* Build good realtions with both ENTENTE and non-ENTENTE countries through the expansion of our embassy system and increased use of public diplomacy.

MILITARY
* Continue participating in daily training wars at the least possible cost.
* Only state funded supply for the elite forces of eBelgium.

DOMESTIC POLITICS
* Promote a more transparent and accountable government through increased congressional oversight and public participation. Emergency and tactical military decisions should be made by the president and his ministers, but broad strategic decision-making that has long-term ramifications should always rest with the congress or the people.
* Aggressively promote eBelgian population growth and retention though culture/identity-building initiatives, external recruitment efforts and incrased opportunites for involvement in all areas of eBelgian political, military and social life.
* Fix or dispose of dysfunctional or unnecessary bureaucratic institutions such as the list of bad people, the ICC and Supreme Court.

We thank you for reading this.
For the future of eBelgium!
