Free Africa's vision
I am proud to announce that I will be running as Free Africa's presidential candidate in the upcoming elections.
Things in eSouth Africa are changing and not always for the better but Free Africa is moving forward. We have redone our vision (included below) and have also created a forum for our members and anyone else that wants to drop by (Our Forum).
Vote FA on Friday. It really is the right thing to do.
Free Africa's vision is of a prosperous, equal opportunity society in which everyone has the opportunity to improve the quality of their lives. We envision a united eSouth Africa in which none of our lands are under foreign control, be that control military or political.
This vision rests on the belief that:
An independent and vibrant civil society is essential to the preservation of equality and openness, in that it acts to counter any attempt by the ruling party or the state to impose it's values on the populous.
The freedom of every person can not be realized unless everyone has the means to pursue their own happiness and improve the quality of their lives.
The drive behind the prosperity of any society is a free enterprise society driven by choice, risk and hard work. None the less, government should assist in the economy when basic needs, such as food, housing or health care, are not adequately provided for.

Don't you have any political stands at all, except for the idea of capitalism?
I thought you had...
Did you miss the part about freeing and unity SA? Did you miss the part about everyone being equal? Did you miss the part about fighting foreign military and/or political control? Did you miss the part about the ruling party or government not having total control?
I did not miss anything written in this article and ok, I have to agree, that actually is politics but you can't say that is uniqe for only your party.
You are practically saying: "We want the absoloute best for South Africa. Vote for us!".
Well no matter who becomes President they will need to work with Congress. BLF don't have a majority. So no President will have complete control. Indeed everyone will need to compromise.
I welcome political diversity. Particularly when presented by such sound minds as compmage and his Free Africans. I will however opt for the slightly more societal future spearheaded by Deus Ex and the Black Lions. Voted!
Compmage told me himself in a pm he is at a disadvantage becouse most of his members are inactive. (never said it was confidential, and all BLF guys know it.) BLF will have no problem winning this election. Most of FA's members are inactive.
FA Also does not have any actual 'goals', other than making everyone equal. Besides CAU, I think thats EVeryones mission....
So...Free Africa is abandoning SAIL?
They want SAIL to halt activities and to only "turn on" when we are in a crisis, rather than being prepared and used as a debate for major parties to unite.
Oh...
Well how about the fact that we may have rid ourselves of the Croation problem, but half our country is still controlled by the Japs, is that a big enough crisis for the South African INDEPENDENCE League to be active about?
You can't fight foreign military occupation by having a co-alition alliances which give the people basically only 1 party to vote for.
There is no "1" party you vote for, rather 1 person who is voted by all of SAIL. That person is the most promising provider that SAIL can find, and if you disband, then you are proving you are not good enough for presidency.
So because SAIL picks a candidate the hundred of citizens in this country who don't belong to SAIL simply don't get a choice?
That isn't democracy. It was one thing to work together in opposing foreign oppression, it is another entirely to deny people a choice.
Free Africa stands for economic freedom and freedom af choice, that is as broad as it gets. Therefore we need to let SAIL sleep for a while in order for us to promote a diverse and free economic and political society. This includes oppression under any system. So keeping it and standing together, is not good for diversity and not good for freedom. It creates a totalitarian rule not representative of the majority of the country, only an active minority, and does not represent true economic and political freedom for everyone.
That is quite obvious from the manifesto.
Voted compmage and I know 7 very active members of Free Africa and they will vote so Compmage count me and my buddies in!
"So because SAIL picks a candidate the hundred of citizens in this country who don't belong to SAIL simply don't get a choice?"
No, it means they have a united SAIL choice to vote for if they choose. It doesn't mean no one else can run just because we nominate someone.
"It was one thing to work together in opposing foreign oppression, it is another entirely to deny people a choice."
Wait..we aren't fighting foreign oppression anymore? Silly me, I though half our country was still under foreign rule. The Jap oppression is a far greater and far worse oppression than the Croat one.
I do not understand why Free Africa giving up the idea of a, well, free Africa.
Howard, how exactly do you fight foreign military control by having what amounts to a single large party?
SAIL is a political alliance founded to battle a political invasion so that your votes aren't spread over multiple candidates. You can not vote the Indonesians out of occupied territory.
Very true...SAIL was formed to oppose the CAU, not eIndonesia. With CAU shifting to dormancy, and no other party or organization within eSA that could possibly challenge a unified SAIL, forcing a single candidate down our throats would be nothing short of tyrany by majority...the very same thing we fought against under the CAU governments.
Furthermore, running a candidate with no opposition creates complacency and, eventually, corruption. Even for the parties formed with the best of intentions, when there is no opposition, after a while there is no longer an incentive to do your best anymore, because there's no sense in doing all that work when it's assured you'll get re-elected anyway.
Then again, Free Africa should not abandon SAIL. There's still too much at stake.
So, lets all set aside our sticks and egos for a moment and think logically; why, exactly, can SAIL not simply put forward multiple candidates?
They can, each party their own.
We never said we would leave SAIL. We never said SAIL should cease to exist.
The easiest and simplest way to field multiple candidates is for each party to field their own. A candidate they think will best represent their vision.
We are more than willing to work with all SAIL members, ALL parties in fact, for the betterment of eSA.
Sorry, that question was a more rhetorical question towards the "zomg you cant run 4 prezdent, compmage!!! :o" crowd, not you. I know full well SAIL is able to field multiple parties and how, and I, for one, endorse your bid for president.
Good luck compmage.
*promptly endorses Deus Ex for President*

Very true Lucien, you understand Free Africa's stance on this.
