Food import tax/eRepublik radio
I will keep this short and simple.
There is a need, in my opinion, to lower the food tax from 99% import tax to a more reasonable rate until we have domestic companies producing higher Q foods and more players on the market overall.
This should be a temporary move for us. We can revisit it later on when it needs readjusting.

On another note. I own a radio studio in Downtown Boston. We can take calls through Skype or through our local Boston number. Also instant feedback is available from the website. I'd like to host an eRepublik show and wanted to see if anyone was interested in helping contribute to it with feedback, call-in or writing a pre-produced bit or segment that we can air while the show is live. Also, anyone that lives in the Boston area (if there is any) that wants to come into our studio is welcome as well. We are right next to a major train and bus hub as well as right above I-93 so it is easy to get to.
The show could be a nightly show if enough people get involved to make it interesting. Someone could call in and give the news report. Another could give a gossip report, and so on..
Anyone interested in working on that PM me and let me know what you would like to do. There is really no limit on what you want to do, bring all ideas. I'd like to make a live call-in show with heavy audience participation as well as possible on-air debates.

At the moment there aren't a lot of q-high companies in thailand, so isn't really necessary change the tax of food, yes we will lose some point of wellness in this day, but all will be solved with the q5 hospital and with the wargames.
So for me is useless put lower tax in food the only thing that we will have is too much q-lower food on the market, that isn't a good things for the thai company of food.
That is why I am proposing to change the import tax. So we can possibly have some higher Q food from the outside. It is at 99% and no one will import with it that high.
We haven't a q5 hospital and I'd imagine it will be a little bit, at least, until we get it. Wargames are something that requires a Q5 to be effective.
Obviously our focus should be on getting a Q5 but food is something that we could help to boost availability.
well maybe i must be more clear.
At the moment we have only q1, q2 or q3 company.
At the moment we have on the marker q1 and q2 food.
Now we will analyze the different possibilities.
House q5 - Work q1
Need eat Food q1 and will remain at 100
House q4 - Work q1
Need eat Food q1 and will remain at 100
House q3 - Work q1
Need eat Food q1 and will remain at 100
House q2 - Work q1
Need eat Food q2 and will remain at 100
House q1 - Work q1
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 3 points of wellness in 5 days
House q5 - Work q2
Need eat Food q2 and will remain at 100
House q4 - Work q2
Need eat Food q2 and will remain at 100
House q3 - Work q2
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 3 points of wellness in 5 days
House q2 - Work q2
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 5 points of wellness in 5 days
House q1 - Work q2
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 8 points of wellness in 5 days
House q5 - Work q3
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 3 points of wellness in 5 days
House q4 - Work q3
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 5 points of wellness in 5 days
House q3 - Work q3
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 7 points of wellness in 5 days
House q2 - Work q3
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 9 points of wellness in 5 days
House q1 - Work q3
Need eat Food q2 and will lose 12 points of wellness in 5 days
From this situation we will see that the max losing of wellness will be 12 points in 5 days.
I choce the 5 days for the analisys because we need to buy the hospital and the mpp before the day 714 (5 days from now) bcause if we will do after we must pay 100 gold for mpp.
So if a man lose 12 point in this five days, when the hospital will be put and the mpp active he can do only 4 fight the first time and use the q5 hospital and his wellness will go fine.
There isn't a too great lose of wellness that necessity the change of tax.
IMHO
the reason of missing high-Q food on market is not only the high import tax, but the cost of an export license.
i am affraid nobody will buy a license when the sell-quantity is so low as the current level.
Sorry but this is a bad idea imho.
The hospital as you know (i think) is under discussion. We are ready to donate gold as Masila too, wargame is on the right way so why we need to low taxes? This put on the market big quantity of strange food. Really i think that is bad. After this law, we will invaded by foreign company and it is impossible to come back...
i agree with antimo and darden!

Like crvnazvezda, I do not expect foreign food companies to purchase export licenses just because we lower the tax. However, I generally support equally low import taxes because this is a nice instrument that makes company managers look after each penny and stay competitive on the world market. If the food industry is protected, they can sell more expensive compared to world market prices. This will cause them to offer higher salaries, and other companies (e. g. weapons or tickets) need to compete with these salaries and will run into a loss because these industries are not protected. To sum up, I agree with Gentyle's proposal because I want to see taxes for all manufacturing goods at the same level.
